I have had my wrangler TJ for 23 years.Thought about a short throw shifter for a long time but was not sure if it was worth the money. I finally went ahead and did it. Easy install, fast and simple. The difference is huge! Such a great upgrade. Recommended 100%. Tight shifts, short thrown, precise!

Fairly easy to install. Came with a nice shift knob. So far superior to the factory shifter its not comparable. Worth every penny. Wish I'd have bought this shifter a long time ago. If your considering it and wondering if it's worth the time and price, it is.

Looks really cool in my 1998 Jeep Cherokee. Way more than 30% of shift reduction. You will not regret this purchase.

The shifter does exactly what it's suppose to do and that is shorten the shifts and make shifting more responsive. However the installation isn't hard but it's aggravating all the same. It didn't have 4 bolts like you'd think. It had two bolts and 2 studs that cause you to use a deep well socket. There's very little room around the stock shifter and less around the B&W. Using the deep well and a universal in a cramped area is no fun. The other issue is that the boot wouldn't slide over the shifter and when we finally got it on there, the goofy clamp wasn't easy to get around the boot evenly. The last thing that I'd got in touch with Holly about was the lack of the vent that the stock shifter has. My question is, "is it necessary?" I saw in a review that someone put a vent in their B&W because of oil leakage. I seriously don't want to remove it to put in a vent.

So I bought this shifter because I have a heavy foot and my shift tower fell out in my 95 YJ. The stock shifter wasn't up to par with my modified 4.0. (Ex: 35 mph in 1st, 55 in 2nd.....) I decided to upgrade rather than replace and what a great decision that has been. The driving experience is much better. It feels tight and shift smoothly. It has a much shorter throw obviously, but it just makes everything better in almost everyday. If you are hesitant on buying this for your Jeep, just get it. There is one negative though. The threads on the shifter aren't long enough for use of the stock YJ shift knob. It still gets about 4 threads but you cannot use the retaining nut and line up the gear pattern. I have include pictures and you won't have to cut any of the floor like my Jeep. This was done because of previous mods. This was installed in a heavily modified 1995 Jeep Wrangler with a 4.0 L and AX15 transmission.

Did not fit my 97 2.5 4cyl. Amazons site is wrong. B&M site confirms it will not work on this model.
