3 pairs for $18 is an amazing price. These are well suited for elementary general music students to use on classroom instruments. Maybe some middle school kids could use these on xylo and marimba when they are learning, but after that they will need better specialized mallets.

These xylophones are great for orff xylophones. Not to bright, but yet a loud enough tone, and long enough for students who are working on fine motor skills. The balls come loose sometimes, but a little dab of gorilla glue and all is well.

Not being a musician I ordered these based on the description. What we found is they don't work for metal key marching glockenspiels. There is nothing really wrong with them, but the item could be better described for us people who are not experienced musicians.
