This kill switch is an open circuit when the lanyard is attached. I needed a switch that is a closed circuit with the kill switch lanyard attached. I wired this in series in order to kill power to my Pulse Width Modulator on my trolling motor. The only way the trolling motor would function is with the lanyard pulled.

Don't make the same mistake I made. I thought it was a ignition kill switch. A ignition kill switch is a normally open switch. This is normally closed and provides ground to the magneto to kill the spark on the plugs. When the safety pin is inserted, it breaks the circuit (Taking the ground away from the magneto). When the pin is removed, it puts ground on the magneto and grounds out taking away the spark.Ignition Kill switches work the other way around.

This product fit perfectly. The kill switch is not hard to install but you do have to use needle nose pliers to help guide wiring though rubber grommet, not difficult at all. 10 mm socket for bolts holding wiring harness job, 22 mm for plastic nut holding switch in place.

This is a direct replacement for the "kill switch" on my Pathfinder with a Yamaha 150. Plenty of wire for easy routing to the ignition switch.
