This simple emergency ladder is great to have on hand for our rowing launch boat. It is made of sturdy webbing with rigid cross-bars and is brightly colored for good visibility. The length is really good and extends far enough down that it will go into the water a bit, making it easier to climb back up into the boat. I would say the carabiners that came with this are adequate, although the "locking" feature makes them a pain to open and close easily.The only drawback on this ladder is that you have to have a good attachment point, such as a railing, or some other kind of hardware to attach to. For our smaller boat that does not have a rail, we will have to devise something that will go under the seat and hold the ladder on either side. This would be the case with a lot of boats (like a canoe, which is mentioned in the description) since most don't have a railing, or even two cleats that would be close enough to hook to. So, make a plan on how you will attach this to your boat before you actually have to use it!It comes with a lightweight drawstring bag and is fairly small so easy to store or pack along. These are really handy for getting people into a boat, since a lot of people don't have the upper body strength to pull themselves in, especially if it is an emergency or cold-water situation.

You might need to do something a little custom.5: In Action: This is a heavy duty polyester tube and strap ladder with stainless hardware completely suitable for marine use. We live on the water and know these materials hold up year after year. The stitching is premium grade. We can’t see the fiberglass bars inside the polyester tubes that make the rungs, but can say that they did not float and are very solid under foot, as fiberglass in epoxy would be. This is a bonus for us because while our boats are low to the water, entry can be hard on some people from a swimming position. We can carry these in the boats since they take up so little space, and use when needed or to recover from a capsize. We've seen some stirrups, but this will help most people get back onto the watercraft without struggle or panic.Pros: Easy to install, no other parts needed.Cons: Little bag that comes with it won't hold up, but that is forgivable given the high quality.ProTip: Great training ladder for capsize/recovery.

Plenty strong, good material, love the bright color, very light. The clips could be a bigger size to be able to easily get on and off larger diameter rails or cleats. I am using this on my overland rig to be able to climb up and get to the cargo basket on the top. It is holding up fine as of now but the clips barely get hooked onto my 3/4" cargo rails and even then, they weren't able to lock so I had to make something just for the ladder. If it came with a strap and D-ring to clip into, then you would have nearly unlimited options with where to hook the ladder. That's what I ended up doing, just attached some cargo strapping to a D-ring, welded the D-ring together so it doesn't open up on me, and now I loop the strap over my rails and through itself and then clip the ladder onto the D-ring. I can now put this ladder just about anywhere. Include that with the ladder and there's the 5th star.

Would I buy again- yes! Boat Rope Ladder, 3 Step Heavy Duty 880lbs strength climbing marine ladder Reinforced StepsGreat product- well constructed and strong. Rope is foldable and can be quickly attached and detached. The includedStainless Steel carabiners are safety locking and wont come off unless you take them off. I used these to easily extend my too short ladder on my Tritune. A few extra steps makes it a lot easier to get out of the water especially when you are a little tired. The cross bars are rigid and handled my 220 lbs just fine. If you plan on using them directly off your boat or small water craft, you will have to have a mounting points, two cleats or a rail to clip too. I wish they made a longer one with 5 or 6 steps for larger boats that stand taller out of water.

Wanted this as a safety item since we boat in waters where hypothermia is a real issue. The good: ladder seems well made with good fit/finish, even stitching with no loose threads, fiberglass rungs are sturdy, storage sack is nice when it is not in use, locking carabiners are a nice safety item. The neutral: carabiner gate opening is on the smallish side (~.40 inches)so it may not fit on toe rails or larger diameter stanchions. Even when attached to the toe rail with larger carabiners, the boat free board is such that the bottom rung is approximately 12 inches above the water - that is a reasonable distance in case of emergency, which is what this is for. Happy to have this safety item.

This ladder is very well made! I got it as a boat ladder for this summer, but I’m finding alternative uses as well, like cleaning solar panels on top of a vehicle, for example.The ladder is well-made. It has reflective patches on the sides. The caribiners are not as intuitive as a climbing carabiner, but they are ok - I immediately replaced them with climbing carabiners. The bars are strong enough for body weight, but full disclosure, I’m not the heaviest and probably not a good weight test. It meets my needs though, and more!
