PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
These tuners feature a thumbwheel locking function to keep your strings securely in place. This prevents string slippage and also enables you to cut off your excess string. You don't have to wrap the string around the posts several times like you do with an non locking machine tuner. Simply thread the string though the hole in the peg, then twist the thumbwheel to secure it in place. Simple and effective, and speeds up re-stringing.
The new sleek design and smooth 1:18 gear ratio give you a great combination of tuning stability, accuracy and good looks.
These tuners have a sealed housing & mounting screw hole at 45 degrees.
With heavy duty internal gear, sturdy and convenient. The guitar will not off key if you lock the screw post when tune the guitar properly. Easy to install, great replacement for your old or dirty guitar tuning pegs.

I bought two other sets of tuners before these. The other sets I bought were AWFUL, the actual center posts on them were so loose that they would vibrate and add unwanted noise. These locking tuners were completely solid after locking, no movement at all, no unwanted vibrations. They improved the already fairly good guitar that I added these to. I would not hesitate to buy them again.

I used these to replace my Epiphone Les Paul Special 2 tuners which were horrible. These are not a direct fit for that guitar but there is nothing that direct fits that guitar. These are nice. They are stable and everything works smoothly on them. You could spend more but why.

1 out of the 6 tuners came stripped, so the locking feature couldn’t work. Additionally, the tuner would not grip my high e string enough and kept slipping. Wouldn’t recommend.

The locks look good and I'm sure that they would do the job. However I gave them 4 stars and had to return them because they did not fit my guitar. the problem WAS NOT with the shaft, although you must pay attention to that since there are different sizes for the "vintage" or "modern" tuners. For me the problem came with the position of the screw's hole. In these tuners is in an angle pointing "down", while in my guitar (les paul style) the hole is more in a "straight line" which means that i should have drilled the head to make it fit and I won't do that. Thus, in addition to checking the shaft size, check the place of your screw hole or get ready to drill/fill your guitar head.
