Nothing like having your a/c go out on the hottest day of the summer! These are so inexpensive! Saved us a ton in money and time waiting for a repair person! When our a/c went out we were able to get next day delivery. A few minutes and we were back in business! For the price, I keep a spare on hand now! Just check and make sure that what you order matches what's in your outdoor a/c unit. This one is a perfect match for ours. I recommend having one of these as well as the switch. Those are also inexpensive and a quick fix!

For a number of years, my A/C cooling unit outside would hum and hesitate while starting and the fan was kind of noisy. One cartridge fuse blew in the outside disconnect box one day. I suspected a bad capacitor. I ordered this one and BAM it did the trick. Unit clicks on instantly and it's running quietly. It was a 40/5 uF cap +-6% tolerance. I measured 20/1.2 on the defective cap which is obviously out of tolerance. Cheaper than a $26 OEM one offered on Amazon and it was next-day delivery (cost $19). Saved my-self 100's of $$$ by doing it myself. Note--short out common to HERM and common to Fan before removing CAP.

The capacitor was delivered as quoted and was easy enough to install. Got the a/c unit up and running again. Wife was more than happy with the results. Time will tell how well the capacitor will work. Hopefully for a very long time!.

The fan wouldn’t start on my AC when the AC turned on.Determined the start capacitor was bad because when the AC turned on manually spinning the fan would start up the fans.I got exactly what I ordered and the installation was easy. Really good value.

I bought this as a backup along with a cheap one because, if the cheap one failed, I didn't want to boil in Kentucky heat and humidity waiting for another to show up. It's a good thing I did because the cheap one lasted two weeks. This one's going on three months and doing great.
