This Resistor worked well for my project. It was just what I needed. Good quality part. Resistance was within tolerance.

These are good quality resistors with accurate values (mine all tested within 2% cold). The actual resistor is insulated from the finned aluminum housing so you can mount them on metal bulkheads/chassis if you want to run them close to their full power rating (thermal paste highly recommended/essential).I'm an EE that mostly works on guitars and guitar amplifiers. I connected one to a 1/4 jack plug and use it as a load resistor for bench-testing amplifiers that are typically around 50W power output and it has worked well. I left the connections bare so I can clip an oscilloscope to the terminals to check the output waveform.Good quality and value, I would buy these again if the need arises.

Works great for what I needed. I will definitely be getting more. When they get hot after awhile the gold color disappears.

Perfect for my application: I use these for loading my experimental power (audio) amplifiers when testing their power output.Due to cost/performance, I'd buy them again if I needed more.

I bought these to build a dummy load for testing amplifiers. I've successfully used them for just that and they work as intended. They measure well, with all 5 of them measuring 8.2 ohms on my not particularly sensitive multimeter, which puts them within 2.5% of spec. Beats the 5% they promised. They have taken 60W without blowing up so far, but I don't recommend running them any higher than about 15-20W for any length of time without a decent heatsink. The image is my current mockup of the layout for the dummy load, with two pairs of 4 resistors that can either be used solo (1-8ohm resistor per side, 100W capacity) or in parallel (2-8ohm resistors per side, giving 200W capacity). This should be plenty for most of my commercial amps, but I may have to invest in something beefier for testing Pro amps, like my QSC.I also haven't measured their inductance yet, but the data I got from the measurement looked as expected and helped me prove the impedance independence of my Onkyo receiver (the second image). One of the five came with a terminal on the end that was potted at an angle (bottom resistor in the first image) but it still works fine. Mostly a cosmetic issue, but could make mounting in a metal casing without shorting a challenge.Overall, very happy and blown away for the money.
