I ordered 16 in total for a pair of inline skates. Just received the bearings and installed them. All of them seem spinning freely, and there is no play. Cannot comment on the longevity and performance yet, but want to point out that these bearings are not sealed or permanently lubricated. What's covering the steel balls is just a dust cover. They came oiled, but it doesn't hurt to add a drop of light machine oil during installation. These are all consistent with the current product description (as 2/28/2025).1. "Single, non-contact, removable rubber shield for easy cleaning and less friction"2. "Pre-lubricated with Speed Cream racing lubricant"This also means that1. they're not compatible with water or mud. if the skates rolled over puddle or mud, be prepared to clean and lubricate the bearings afterwards.2. They may need a drop of oil before/during/after season. As long as your bearings are not covered in dust/dirt, to lubricate your bearings, you can just add a drop of oil to the center of each bearing and spin it. The oil will sip through the gap between the dust cover and inner ring. The bad experience from some reviewers may be related to these.BTW, please read the manual coming with the bearings. It has a lot more information that I expect. What is in the manual is consistent with the design of the product.

So, do bones not specify the quality of their bearings, or are they expensive counterfeits? These bearings don't have an "ABEC" rating, which is strange. I can't see any quality rating other than "Very high-quality" from China, which makes me sceptical. 🤔 I'm curious to find out if they are authentic or fake, so I'll contact Bones directly to confirm.

Bones bearings are the best and for these ones you pay entry level price and get great performance. Clean them with citrus degreaser and oil them with Bones Speed Cream every so often and they'll work great for a long time.

Ok not really scary - but it is amazing how much faster and smoother it feels skating on these. The upgrade over the previous ABEC rated bearings should be fairly obvious but until you experience for yourself you can't believe how much better they are

Love these bearings. They lasted me a full year of skating several miles everyday before they finally started blowing out. I just recently bought a new pair. I'm not a skate bearing connoisseur, but I can't imagine there's many better bearings on the market for the price.I know the Swiss are better/more expensive and they last longer and I'm willing to buy them, but why not just get a fresh pair of reds every year and always have fresh bearings is sort my stance in this ongoing argument.

My Razor A5 was making a sound from one of the wheels. I replaced the bearings with these but the sound remained. So I got new wheels and put the bearings in those and now the sound is gone. So it wasn't the bearings making the sound, but the wheels. The wheels pin nice with these bearings. If you are buying this item that includes the spacers for a Razor A5, don't, because they are not the correct width. So I reused the spacers already on my A5 scooter.

After 20 years, I still use these as my go to set of bearings!! These are Swiss grade bearings, but they are made in China. That is it. They have the Teflon retainer and everything is the spec of a Swiss grade bearing. It is just made in a different country for less money. Anyway, that's how they used to sell them 20 years ago. I'm sure it's not politically correct to say that now. Anyway, buy them! They are very very fast right out of the box and when they wear and they are some of the fastest bearings that money can buy. For the price, they are absolutely unbeatable. You will not be disappointed with these for your skateboard!

These are pretty much the OG's of bearings. Super high-quality China bearings that are inspected before import to keep the cost so low while maintaining a quality product. now for the pros and cons;Pros:-Low Cost-Super Smooth-Nice and quiet-Won't heat up and melt wheels during downhill sessions (Yes this is a thing look it up)-Easy to clean and lube-Bearing retainers to keep the balls distanced properly in the race.-Will last YEARS IF you take care of themCons;-Will Rust, Don't let them get wet pretty much in any way, and if you do clean them.-Nylon insert leaves a tiny gap allowing dirt to get into the race (ALWAYS make sure to have the insert facing TOWARDS the INSIDE of the wheel. you want the red metal shield on the outside of the wheel.-Having to clean almost monthly because of the nylon insert.-China made (if that bothers you for whatever reason)-Your going to have to clean them often so get a cleaning kit too. (they will last years if maintained)
