Whoa Nelly! I realized that this thing would be pretty heavy duty, but I was not prepared for what a beast it is! It really is a commercial level unit with the expected capabilities. It’s extremely heavy, but rolls around on wheels so it’s very convenient. It can power through an incredible amount of paper at once with ease, and has the neatest feature – which I had never seen – an inside paper tray, where you can stack a whole bunch of letter-sized paper, which it then just chomps its way through. So cool!Given how beefy this thing is, it’s surprisingly quiet. I have much smaller units than this which – while powerful in their own right – are extremely loud.So I just could not be happier with this acquisition. If you shred a lot of documents, you need this baby beside you!

This is a fairly large and heavy paper shredder that is probably bigger than most of the paper shredders you will see marketed for home use. It could work in a small business office but it’s about half way between a home shredder and a true commercial grade office shredder.Set up was easy. Just unbox it and plug it in, then turn it on. Feeding sheets manually is a breeze. The automatic document feeder was a bit more finicky for me. If I put perfectly flat sheets in it worked fine. But if the sheets had any wrinkles in them it would just keep running non-stop without feeding any paper through. If you use it I would not recommend walking away from it while in operation so that you don’t burn out the motor. The unit is very quiet for a shredder of this size. It comes on wheels so it’s easy to move around. I tried putting a trash bag in but it didn’t hold in place. I’ll need to play around with it a bit to find the right size bag for it.I’ve gone through a bunch of cheap shredders over the years purchased in retail stores. They never seem to last longer than a year or so and if you run a lot through them they either jam up or burn out. I think this one is going to last for a long time. It cost about three times as much as a typical home shredder but for a unit that lasts and can handle heavy duty loads it’s a great value for the price.

This shredder checks a lot of boxes, more boxes than I've ever seen:1) Has an automatic feeder for up to 200 sheets at a time, so you can drop 200 sheets and walk away!!2) Can shred staples/clips, saving lots of shredding prep time.3) Shreds into tiny squares for added security!!4) Shreds up to 12 pages of 20lb paper simultaneously.5) Long run time of 30 minutes in manual mode, 60 minutes in auto feed mode.6) Very quiet operation, you can barely hear it shredding!!Conclusion: It's difficult to find a shredder that checks all of the above boxes, and if you are lucky to find one in stock it will typically cost thousands of dollars, and will come with a one year warranty. It doesn't make sense to buy such a shredder for home use. But the Bonsaii makes perfect sense for only about $300. The shredded paper can be used to start your charcoal grill or fireplace. And you'll have greater security knowing that dumpster divers aren't stealing your personal information. Priceless!!

This made quick work of a bunch of papers with personal info on them but was quieter than my printer! I used the auto feed filled up to the max (there's a line inside to show you where to stop, to adapt to different thicknesses of paper). No jamming. It was so quiet I forgot I had it running in the next room, and I fully expected to find a disaster when I went to put more papers in. Nope!I just wish there was more capacity for the shreds. I ran through two rounds of 200 pages, but it filled up before finishing the second round. I don't know exactly how many pages were left, but a rough estimate on the capacity using standard printer paper is 350 pages. It's not bad if you're only do a few sheets here or there, but if you've got a large number to work with, keep that in mind.

Yes, this is an expensive shredder but I was so tired of getting cheap ones that would malfunction and ended up wasting money having to throw them out. While I got it for home use, I have a lot to shred. I don't put anything in my trash anymore that has any kind of personal info once I found someone going through my trash. Even junk mail like a card for auto repairs goes through the shredder if it has my name/address on it. I am in the process of decluttering and have been shredding tons of old statements and not one malfunction. I love how tiny the shreds are... no one can possibly see any info once this shredder gets ahold of it. I love that it is on wheels and easily slides in and out from under my desk. It is very user friendly and easy to open and empty.

I replaced a similarly sized industrial-style shredder with this one and am very happy. The old one handled 18 sheets versus 12 on this one, and this one has a sheet feeder. My initial thoughts were that I would miss the higher capacity, but in actual use I tend to use the sheet feeder for larger jobs, so I don’t miss it.The shredder itself is attractive (for a shredder) and easy to use. Buttons on the front are very large and backlit, and the array of status LED’s (there are 5 of them) are more convenient than the little LCD display panel on my old unit. I like to use a plastic bag in the paper drawer, and I found that, while seemingly large, the 21 gallon large drawstring trash bags (28 in X 34 in X 1.0 MIL) work perfectly – there are front hooks and rear clips in the shredder drawer that these bags fit on and they don’t interfere with the “bag full” sensor.I was initially concerned with the depth of the slot used for manually shredding as it passes through the tray area used for sheet feeding, but I think it winds up being about the same depth as my old shredder. It is deep enough that you won’t get your fingers stuck in it, but smaller papers that you are manually feeding don’t get lost in there. And when you pop the door open to access the sheet feeder, the shredding mechanism is right there for ease in oiling and cleaning. All in all, I am very happy with this shredder and highly recommend it.
