the concept is great and for elk hunting or walking around its great to free up your hands. I think for what it is and what it's made of its a little spendy. still works good and might outfit another rifle with one if need be

Awesome sling. Easy to install. It’s perfect if you stalk hunt or hike.I’ve had mine since 2019 and purchased two more for my son and nephew. Now the whole hunting party has purchased them.Unlike a traditional sling where you carry the rifle on your shoulder, with the Safari Sling the rifle is always at the ready. MUCH faster reaction time than a typical shoulder sling. You may have to purchase wider swivels but it’s well worth it!! There are a number of videos on you tube that show you how to use and install the sling.

This is an absolute must to have, if you do some stalk hunting or even long walks in and out you need this thing. The comfort and versatility of this sling is nice. Your rifle need swivels on it and I don't know if they sell them separately or not. Mine had them on from previous sling so I didn't have to worry about it. I highly recommend this!

This was the 3rd one of these I purchased. The last as a gift to a friend. First one purchased was the camo one maybe 5 years ago from a retailer (not longer carries). Purchased 2nd, this year for myself since I got tired of moving it from Shotgun to rifle to black powered.Durability: First one has started to fray along edges. Expect many more years of use from it but edges did fray but it has been in woods ~100 times.Comfort: Ideal. Carry in front hands free when necessary. Quiet, comfortable with weight of rifle on shoulders.Usage: Do not need to unsling to shoot. Just lift to shooting position. No more holding sling on shoulder when walking like other slings.Attachment. Easy. Although clips do not come with it to attach its easy to attach to clips. Ideally you get the ones which can be quickly removed to transfer sling to another rifle.

I bought this at the recommendation of a friend and after reading all of the eye-popping reviews. One theme in many of the previous reviews is that you will never use another sling after you try this one. It’s true. I’ll never go back. It’s a game changer. For years I have suffered with normal slings. And you don’t really realize how much you dealt with previously with your old style slings until you try this one. For the coffee or beer or bourbon snobs out there, you know what I mean. This is the Pappy Van Winkle of slings. Bar none. And worth every penny. After experiencing the Safari Sling, my only question is how the hell did I not run into this earlier? The main utility for me is holding a rifle in a ready position while moving, particularly while spotting and stalking. I used it for the first time a few weeks ago on a spot and stalk hunt for elk and antelope in Wyoming. Having hunted elk for years, i quickly realized how beneficial the Safari Sling is. It is easily adjustable, allowing you to move where you want the gun based on your clothes or pack. It takes a little getting used to, but within minutes I had it figured out, moreover, it spreads the weight of a heavy gun over more of your back rather than a shoulder, giving you less fatigue and more mobility. It REALLY blew my mind when I started crawling on my hands and knees after some pronghorn. It swung right below my chest, and as long as I moved slowly, which was required given the situation anyway, it kept the gun off the ground and let me move within position without having to worry about carrying the gun in one hand. I could crawl on all fours. It helped, I was impressed, and as many of the other reviews say, I won’t ever go back.I know this is going to be equally beneficial in a tree stand. Looking forward to testing it out in that venue soon.

A friend of mine showed me his Bonnie Packer Safari Sling at hunting camp in Maine. I absolutely had to have one. It is one of the best things I have ever purchased for hunting in over 50 years of being in the woods. If your a hunter that does not sit and you have a lot of moving to do then I highly recommend using this sling. There is a lot more movement involved to get your gun off your shoulder and back up to shooting position with a regular sling than there is with the Safari Sling. Hands free when I need them and I don't have to worry about my rifle falling off my shoulder. Great product.
