I used this a couple of times and it worked fine, but now it won't spread out widthwise...it only gets longer with either of wheel or the knob. It sounds like the gear is slipping or not engaging. Very disappointed, but it's too late to return it.We took it apart and then back together and it’s working again. It’s hard to get down into my ankle boot. I wear a size 6.5 or 7 M shoe so it’s the correct size for my shoes.

I obviously didn’t read this properly and was surprised to take delivery of 1 stretcher not a pairHowever I used it on a brand new pair of Dr Martens that has crippled me after the first 5 minutes of wearI used the length and width stretch option and left it in each boot for 48 hoursI was ecstatic to be able to slip my foot into them with ease, the 2nd time of wear I walked for over an hour and wore them all day and nightI highly recommend this and am extremely happy and impressed by how quickly and how efficiently this worked ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Te cuento sobre la horma que pedí. La verdad es que cuando la recibí, me sorprendió lo robusta que se veía. El plástico es muy rígido, lo que me dio confianza de que no se iba a romper fácilmente. La primera vez que la usé, la metí en unas botas de cuero que me quedaban un poco justas. La dejé ahí un par de días y, al sacarla, noté que las botas estaban mucho más cómodas. No es que se hayan ensanchado una barbaridad, pero sí lo suficiente como para que ya no me aprieten.Eso sí, he notado que no todos los zapatos reaccionan igual. Por ejemplo, intenté usarla con unos zapatos de tela y no vi mucha diferencia. Creo que el material del calzado influye bastante en el resultado. Con el cuero y materiales más rígidos, la horma parece funcionar mejor.Otra cosa que me ha gustado es que la horma no solo ensancha, sino que también estira un poco. Esto es genial para esos zapatos que te quedan un poco cortos. Pero, como te decía, hay que tenerle paciencia. No es algo que funcione de un día para otro. Hay que dejarla puesta el tiempo suficiente para que haga su trabajo.Por lo pronto estoy contento con la compra. No es una solución mágica, pero si tienes un poco de paciencia y la usas correctamente, puede hacer que esos zapatos que te aprietan se vuelvan mucho más cómodos. Espero que esta información te sea útil si decides comprarla.

What drew me into picking this boot stretcher over others was the fact that it uses a metal gear to widen the stretcher. I opened the package and looked at the directions that came with it but they were worthless. I took out the curved black plastic "thing" and noticed deep scratches in it which would ruin any thin fine leather shoe. I didn't use it not only because of the deep scratches but, because there is no way to hold it in place. (Lack of directions)Just putting it in my boot totally closed position was super tight and after finally getting it in I noticed it stretched a one inch piece of leather apart (tore basically), without even widening the stretcher. I immediately took it out and not taking any chances with it.Just a side note, the boots were totally prepped for a week with leather conditioners and mink oil so the leather shouldn't have torn like that. I believe that the dimensions are a bit off and that mostly the toe widens more than the widest part of your foot. 2.5 stars

Missing plugs for the shoe stretcher. Rufus wasn’t helpful. Before I return the item that was supposed to have plugs included. I will see if I can find the plugs separately.

Use this too increase the size of a pair of boots I bought and were shipped from China. Even though I ordered my correct size the way the boots were made, they were a little tight. This little gem corrected the problem for me in a few days. Wish I had bought two so I could’ve done both boots at the same time.

Like many people, my feet are not the same size. I made the mistake of not sizing up when buying my hiking boots and when I walk for a long distance, my feet swell enough that it can get painful in the toe box. I didn't want to waste the pricey boots I already have, so I tried this stretcher.When I first got it, I wasn't sure it was going to be strong enough to stretch my boots as it was made of plastic on the outside. But the mechanical system inside was able to give me just enough room to increase my comfort quite a bit in the boots. At first I wasn't aggressive enough in the stretching and just waited the 48 hours in the instructions. It only stretched a bit that time.The next time I stretched it, I used more pressure, and left it for a week. This time it was much more successful. I read that you can also get some liquid treatments to help with the stretching but it wasn't necessary for me.
