Took a little while for me to get the hang of using this chisel with my rotary hammer. If it seems not to be working well, change your technique to take smaller bites out of the wood.

Most chisels, power or manual, aren't particularly sharp out of the box. Certainly not sharp like they could be. This one was at the upper end of factory sharpness. There are some rough grinding marks on the bevels and blade and the cutting edge is concave leaving a radius on the face. It's good steel though and already does an impressive job of cutting through even white oak and locust. This is my first power chisel for wood, so I'm not sure what part of that is the case and what part is the Bosch bulldog SDS drill I'm using behind it. In also not sure if making this mirror polished and razor sharp is nessecarily or even a good idea, but that's how I've been taught to treat a new chisel.I don't think the difference between results and magnificent results are usually the tool's fault, but I think this is a pretty great peice of metal, and I think this will beat the hell out of sharpening a concrete chisel and busting the wood apart. It's quality Bosch stuff, and it's suprisingly cheap. I'm really happy with it, and you will be too.

This tool saved me a lot of frustration today, I ordered it for a timber frame shed project and forgot I had it. I was replacing windows in my basement foundation and needed to cut into the embedded wood frame of the old windows. There was not much room to work, chisel and hammer was effective for one side but impossible on the other, same with flush cut saws. I put this bit in my old bosch sds plus and was done in 5 minutes. It removes alot of material quickly and can be used in very tight spots. It paid for itself today and would highly recommend this tool.

I had a difficult application where I had some decaying, moisture damaged 2x6 horizontal headers in an outside wall that were back nailed from the inside. I had no space to get a saw in. This worked great to allow me to chisel out sections and remove the headers.
