I purchased this to use with my BH Tracker IV in trashy areas. Coil works great! The coil is quite small but works great picking out targets in areas littered with trash. I can’t say that it will help you find gold/gold nuggets unless it’s a sizable nugget - this has more to do with the detector itself. But, it’s a great coil for the money.

Well, let me start with I only had this work a very short time and as of this date I have no dislikes. What I liked about it was it made finding coins on a old farm property very easy because I could almost use it the same as a pin pointer. I have added a few photos to show the items found, there wasn't as many old coins as I had hoped but I did find a few interesting items. one was the ET token LOL love that thing, another was the 1902 five cent piece. check out the photos, I was on a old farm and there was a lot of trash in the ground. there is a photo of my total find with the coil and trash I did fall for. great coil, loving it. For those who want to know, I was using it on the Bounty Hunter Quick Draw Pro. Awesome!

Ottima piastrina per rendere il mio bounty hunter tracker VI completo per ogni occasione, non va profondissima ma d'altronde le dimensioni sono davvero minime ma la ricerca in posti pieni di spazzatura è davvero buona

Great for upgrading your bounty hunter, and working trashy areas. This coil totally helps in trashy grounds and iron falsing! I have an area in my yard that used to be an old trash heap, and boy did my detector go nuts. With this coil, it reduces ground chatter and accurately pinpoints. The only con is the depth which is about 4 inches or so, but that it to be expected with a 4in coil. Worth the money!

Bought this coil for my Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505. After disappointing multiple attempts and failure to get the stock 8" Spider coil to stabilize and getting nothing but false signals, I purchased this for coin shooting. Upon receiving it from Amazon I immediately put it on my 505 to try it out. Boy was I ever surprised. I started finding coins right away and got fewer false signals. I also like the fact that I don't need to change my setting to all metal no motion mode to pinpoint the find. It makes the process of locating, pinpointing and digging up my finds faster. Although I have a pin pointer I don't use it much when using this coil because it does such an accurate job of locating the find to a small area eliminating having to dig big plugs. Although it takes longer to scan the same area as a larger coil, I know that I am finding lots of items that other people have missed. This coil has became my coil of choice for coin shooting. I highly recommend it. It's a must buy for any Bounty Hunter detector.

The descriptions here state that this coil is compatible with "All models of Bounty Hunter Detectors." If you bought the awesome here on Amazon, then picked up this little nugget coil, you'll be disappointed to learn that the new little coil has a plug attachment, whereas the Gold Digger has a permanently wired large coil. In other words, you can't attach the nugget coil to that model of Bounty Hunter as claimed! We are the authors of the Prospector's Bible and run the Become a Prospector dot com site and review many detectors for our members, as well as the Gold Prospectors and Miners Assn (GPMAA dot org). To give a positive balance to this compatibility problem, the Gold Digger Detector itself, for between $60 and $80 here on Amazon, and eligible for Prime free shipping, is comparable to $1,000 plus detectors if your objective is gold placer, nugget or lode detecting. Both products are outstanding, we just wanted to give you a head's up that they don't work together! You'll need a more advanced (plug in) model of the Bounty Hunter, such as the if you want to use the small nugget coil. However, to be very honest, and save you money, the large coil on the Gold Digger Detector is perfectly adequate for scanning both filtered rocks and below the surface for nuggets. The small head reviewed here is really for a narrow, shallow scan, and is most useful for scanning your filtered rocks before panning the finer dirt or sand. We put a coarse filter over a 5 gallon bucket, shovel the river bed dirt just above bedrock into the filter, toss the stones on the shore, and buzz over them with the detector to be sure we didn't miss a nugget before panning the dirt, or bringing the bucket back home or to base to put through the sluice. If you set your larger coil Gold Digger on object discrimination mode, it will work just as good as the nugget finder to scan your stones, yet with discrim off, read much deeper than the nugget coil to find deeper deposits. Works great with the tracker IV (5 stars), but not at all with the Gold Digger, so a warning three stars just to save Gold Digger buyers a return. If you want the very best anywhere for any and all gold prospecting applications, and one that WILL work with the little Nugget Coil for post-panning rock scanning, the one with the consistently highest performance in our tests, still under $200, and comparable to $1,500 models at Cabela's, is: -- in fact, there is a "Cabela's Only" special make up privately branded of this exact model for three times the Amazon cost!

I am most interested in using my metal detector for hunting minerals that are conductive, like pyrite and galena. I bought a bounty hunter tracker 4, and was rather disappointed in the performance. For example, looking for pyrite, the specimens needed to be rather large - greater than one and a half inches (along one dimension - they could be thinner, though) to be detected. However, I then put this coil on the detector and WHOA! I could then find cubes that were as small as 1/2"!! That's amazing detectability from such an inexpensive instrument. For those of you unfamiliar, minerals are inherently higher resistance than plain metals, and are therefore harder to detect - you need a larger sample to create a response.Since the coil is smaller, its depth range is much less, so this is mainly for finding smaller items near the surface. With this coil I can find some rather small metal objects too! Objects like a sewing needle. So, yes, this thing can help you find a needle in a hay stack. Just make sure you spread the hay out thin. ;-)
