I purchased this to keep on my bed rack mounted propane tank for when I am not out on the trail to keep someone, i.e. a curious kid, from cracking the tank open and causing an unwanted accident. The lockout works well and does the job, but when left on for long durations in direct sunlight it will fade. No big deal to me as it is a safety feature for me and not a fashion statement. This tank lockout works as expected.

I like knowing when I’m not home, the teenagers can’t light up the grill . They always forgot to turn off the gas and then the tank is empty when I go to use it. If I could only find a lock for the toilet paper too! 😄 . This definitely solved the problem

Lock tab is thin and broke first time unlocked. I continued to use as unsecured but after 2 weeks in 70° partial sun, hinge stuck and brittle plastic snapped upon attempt to open.There is much better for less money. Get one with metal hinge pin and heavier lock tabs

The hinge is plastic and it failed (snapped in half) after 2.5 years. Note that we did use this outside on the propane tank for our grill. The grill is kept covered whenever not in use and we maybe use it a dozen times a year. Perhaps the plastic this is made from can't hold up to weather changes? We're in NC, so we're not talking particularly drastic cold. Up until the point where the hinge failed, we were very pleased with the product and it served it's purpose well.

It's decent for propane lock out . We use it at our motel for when bbq hours are over and it works great for our application however if you wanted to you could easily break off as it's just plastic. Would recommend for simular application's.

Works. Came home to my stupid neighbors using my grill with the pitiful excuse that they thought my propane grill was their charcoal grill. Maybe now they will say their keys dont work on my lockout.

We got this because we noticed someone in our building is using our grill when we're not home. This lockout fits perfectly over the knob on our propane tank. It's a little tricky to take off but that's more a space issue than anything else. Excited to see how it holds up to the weather.
