This beautiful antique looking compass comes sitting in a handsome wooden box. On the top of the box is a fine example of marquetry, a type of precision inlay. Pictured on the box is a skillfuly rendered marquetry of an anchor. This marquetry makes the compass a realistic looking antique. The compass is hefty in the hand, as is the box it came in. The box and compass look great on our office desk. This compass is solid brass, and is very authentic. I ordered the compass for display, I don't have a clue how to use it!! This has been a satisfying transaction.

Sent this to my brother for Christmas. He did open early and all I heard over the phone was "OMG"! "this is awesome, I love it". He explained the detail, the rosewood box it came in and kept telling me about it over the phone. Then I heard "I'm going to lock this inside my safe so none of my friends or neighbors think about stealing it. He also joked how he was going to tell his friends how I purchased it at an auction for $18,000 and that it came from the Titanic. I told him not to and just enjoy the gift. Today his girlfriend saw it and then she called and the same thing "OMG" "this is beautiful and I love the quality of the brass and information about it, the wood box it sits in. She asked where I found it. I told her at an auction, then I told her I was joking and told her I got it from Antiquana Store on Amazon. She looked it up and told me thank you so much that my brother was just excited. I highly recommend this for office decor, Navy veterans or sea lovers who love vintage and exquisite decor. I don't have a photo to share but the excitement over the phone from both my brother and his girlfriend comfirmed I made an awesome purchase for a gift. Thank you Antiquana Store!

I was excited for this compass and when I received it, it didn't work. The box it was held in was high quality but the compass itself didn't even point north. That could've been overlooked but the sundial wasn't even able to be opened completely because of a piece of metal stopping it. If your buying this compass as a decoration or trinket I would recommend, but this won't help you with directions

This compass feels so cool. Both the box it came in and the compass itself feel like a really good quality with great materials. I saw no flaws. It just feels good in my hand, if that makes sense. It doesn't feel like a cheap gimmicky gift item. Needless to say, I'm glad I ordered it. The compass and box look amazing and feel like a great quality, which makes me feel like it's a really good value for the price ($33.00 at the time I ordered). I haven't tried to use this as a compass- for me it's decor, so I'm not sure about the accuracy of the compass or sun dial.I have no complaints and I'm glad I ordered this.

Had a small problem initially when I unpacked the item, the glass face covering the compass was cracked during shipping (no fault of the seller), but their customer-service is excellent, they arranged a replacement item in less than a couple of hours (REALLY FAST!!)The Sun-Clock Compass is VERY NICE though and just gorgeous! I know the person I'm gifting it to will be thrilled to have it and will keep it on their desk with the display box as a coversation starter (honestly, I want one for myself now so I'll absolutely be purchasing from this company again!

I got this for a gift, I hope it is not broken because there is a ladies name written on the box and it had been retaped. Too late to get another coming for Christmas. It looks nice from what i see, but wont know until Christmas.
