This tool is designed defected or it is not for violins. The lowest stop is higher than violins' soundpost. If you try to push it to narrow to height further, it will be bent and stuck there and is not easy to be able to pull it up. I saw someone wrote a bad review about this tool, I still bought it. My mistake.
