Original carafe broke when bumped against the wall. I suspect this carafe is just as 'delicate'. But so far hasn't broken. I feel the carafe needs to be a bit tougher/stronger.

After breaking the original carafe, the carafe was easily replaced with the one ordered from Amazon.

I ordered this carafe as a replacement for the one that came with my Braun coffee maker I bought a couple years ago when my husband tripped and broke the original one. This carafe is a perfect replacement. My only complaint is that it took 6 weeks for it to get here , and we had to buy a Melita carafe to use in the meantime! Now I have a spare, I guess. This item came from Austria, and I started wondering if it was coming from Timbuktu. I’m just glad to get it.

I stumbled to the kitchen to make coffee without my glasses and misjudged the distance of the carafe from the counter. I couldn't believe I broke my carafe! I woke up quickly after that and made coffee directly into a cup. I ordered a replacement and got it very quickly. It took quite a hit to break, so I'm impressed with the durability.
