Able to isolate my gold fishes that are injured or time out from nipping. It is a plastic bottle with the inner and outer layer able to be separated. It lets the aquarium water flow through so it doesn't need to be filled out

This was a great idea that fell a bit short. the inner cup is very restrictive. It gives a little room for the fish to move but there isn't much. You are more likely to over stress the fish with this than anything else.

Edit: This is working fantastically for an emergency baby situation. One of my guppy moms sneakily went into labor, so I scooped her up in this setup. It’s working fantastically for keeping her and the babies safe. Because it’s small, I’m still not sure I’d use it for breeding, like two adult guppies in here, but it is working for a single mom and babies. I would not leave her long term in here though. Just this short term emergency.I got this for my guppies. It's sturdy, love the mesh on the bottom of both containers, and the foam on the tops of them does it keep them floating well. The part for the adults is a little smaller than I was hoping. They can swim a little, but it's almost thin enough that the longer tailed male can be touching both sides of the inner container at the same time. My pregnant guppy, if I left her in there, wouldn't have much room to swim around. It'd be better if I left her in the larger container, but that would keep her locked in there with the babies, and she may end up eating them. So, it's not a size that I would want to leave a fish in very long.Still happy I got this though. It'll work in a pinch for separating out naughty fish who are causing problems in the tank to give them some time-out time.

I got this breeder box set to help with quarantining fish I want to keep an eye on or pregnant fish or just new fish in general when I'm acclimating them to my tank. The set is great because it comes with 2 sizes that nest into one another, and the smaller one has a larger mesh. The larger mesh is helpful for separating any smaller fry into the larger chamber, though with the larger chamber since it has a very fine mesh, you have to be careful with uneaten food accumulating in its bottom. The foam float position can be adjusted so you can have a deeper chamber or a more shallow chamber which I do for my fish that are more jumpy. There are 2 suction cups that can be used to attach the chambers to a corner of your tank but I found mixed effectiveness with them. They seem to work for some time but after a while lose their suction since they are attaching to a curved wall of the chamber.Nonetheless, overall this is a great set that has been really helpful for managing my fish.

I've been noticing baby fish in my big tank. They are usually gone in a few days. I have zero desire to set up a separate nursery tank, but I would like to help the babies live. I was happy to find this contraption so I can protect the baby fish in the main tank with very little extra effort. You can allow this to float in the tank or secure it to a wall with thr provided suction cups. The larger cup has a very fine mesh so nothing can pass. The smaller cup, that fits in the bigger cup, has holes the baby fish can swim through.Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

As long as you measure the length of your fish and give it room to swim inside the smaller breeding section without stress, it’ll work great.I tried this as a holding tank for blackworms without the smaller breeding section. The blackworms easily make it through the finer mesh but then clog up the mesh and then the water inside is stagnant which will kill the whole colony. The cool thing about this particular floating isolation tank is that there is a screw at the bottom and the fine mesh can be substituted by plastic wrap and filled with water. Here’s why this is brilliant on a temporary basis for blackworms. Any planaria leaches will climb up the plastic sides (but not escape) and can be picked off so you’re not accidentally throwing in parasites that often are found in live blackworms from your local fish stores, even the most reputable. But do not keep the blackworms in the setup described above overnight without an air hose inside. That would still not be a long term solution because the water will quickly pollute the water inside. But this a great low-tech way to keep parasites out of your tank!

I got this to replace a square hang on the side nursery. When the fry were born, they weren't able to get away from momma fast enough to avoid replenishing her energy.I had hoped that this would allow the babies to go through the bottom and evade mom. The issue is, this is TINY. I can't imagine keeping a molly or similarly sized fish in it. And it's not large enough for a betta or two guppies as shown . . .Nice design, just way too small to be usable.

I got this for use with my guppies. It works alright for my Endler females, but is too small for the full size girls.
