I previously purchased the plastic Harley which did work. However, I next purchased the metal Harley and it’s so much better and easier to use. I have arthritis and it’s really difficult to open many jars, especially baby food jars if meat that I feed my 10+ year adopted cat. I highly recommend this product and was not paid for this review. I infact purchased two more for Christmas gifts.

Great to break the vacuum on jars to make them easy to open. We had a similar one growing up. My wife loves this one. I purchased another one to give to our adult daughter for Christmas.

Bättre än så här blir det inte! Gör det den skall hur bra som helst. Mina föräldrar är supernöjda. En kvalitet som gör att burköppnaren kan gå till nästa generationer.

I was looking for something to aid in opening jars as I had gotten some jars that were comparatively hard to open. I read a review of this from a cooking show that does those and I thought I'd check it out. It seems too simple to do any good, but just slide it up to the jar lid and lift with just the tiniest pressure and it breaks the seal at which point the jar opens very easily. I had previously gotten an electric jar opener for my mom, but I'll get her one of these now as I think it is easier to use more effective and much easier to store.

This little tool is incredible!! At 65 years old, I can finally open sealed jars with no problem! I've always used this, "pry up the lid edge to break the seal" method, but some jars are just impossible to find anything that will work. Very frustrating sometimes! This seems to work on them all. Now, we're talking about regular lids like you find in the store on jam, pickle, sauce, etc jars. NOT FOR CANNING JAR LIDS AND RINGS! It works surprisingly well! I was shocked at how little pressure I had to use to pop the lid! I spent years searching for and buying products that didn't work, in an effort to make opening jars easier for my elderly Aunt. Everything was clumsy, confusing or plain junk. I sure wish I'd been able to find this for her. But I'm sure using it, as well as my sister, who gets terrible cramps and has limited strength in her hands. It's fantastic! I don't mind the price because it works perfect and being metal, it should last forever. It's sturdy and lightweight! A great little tool!

A great example of a simple to use tool that works well - even better than the blunt end of an old-style church key. Operation requires very little strength and delivers immediate results.Once placed on the jar a slight lift is all that is needed to release the vacuum; barely an effort. This opener in for traditional commercially sealed jars. Work extremely well and has a permanent place in my kitchen drawer. It is not for opening home canning jars. Why? Home canning jar lids consist of two pieces - a ring and a top. These jars make their seal on the top lid only. The screw on ring is needed to maintain the seal but does not have the ability to release the vacuum on these jars. Think of it; who hasn't taken the ring off a home canning jar and find out you need your fingernail or a butter knife to release the seal and lift the lid off?

This product is well worth the money. Bought a plastic one before and it eventually wore out. This one will last for ever. Best thing ever invented, helps so much for opening new jars.

This Brix JarKey Metal Jar Opener is outstanding! I was about to order two more for gifts, until I noticed that they doubled in price over the last 25-months, now running 20.74 dollars on 25FEB2017. There are two problems with it, but I am still giving it 5-stars. It does not work on lids over half an inch tall, but it works well for 98% of lids which I need to open, including preparing large meals for a non-profit fundraiser. The second problem is that it will walk away if taken to a Christmas party and one loses track of it. I have lots of tools to open stubborn jar lids, none of them alone will handle every jar, but this is usually my first choice and it is smaller than all of the other tools. This is especially nice for commercial size jars. I am a guy who normally does not need any tool to open most jar lids, but a tool like this is needed for the 10% which are a challenge to open by force alone. I do not recall ever finding a jar lid under half an inch tall that this tool would not allow one to open it with two fingers, after the seal is relaxed and the pressure is equalized in the jar. I worry at over twenty-dollars a copy, that the Chinese will soon be making them. Definitely overpriced, but still worth the cost for those who sometimes are challenged to open jar lids. I am shocked that only 21 users have reviewed this outstanding tool over the last two years.Below is my short, original review:Very handy tool for when a jar will not open. Only need it about once a month, but it is well worth the price when we need it.
