They are intended to be used with a wooden plank, but I used them on my aluminum ramps. My ramps originally had some mostly useless, short, hinged and difficult top hangers. I cut off the old hangers and fabricated these onto my ramps and they work great. See before and after pics and finished ramps.

I ordered two of these kits to make a trailer ramp out of a 4 x 8 sheet of 3/4 inch plywood. It's probably over kill but since I was loading some pretty heavy stuff by myself, I was looking to reduce the stress on my body. It's a bit "spongy" so I'll put a couple of cinder blocks underneath about halfway up the ramp.

Does everything it is supposed to do. As for the individuals reviewing this product that say that the a standard board does not fit "in" the bracket. They are 100% correct. However, IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO. It is designed to align with the edge of the board, not fit the board between. This provides the proper angle needed to be a ramp. Without it, the angle is too shallow. It provides no more stability to cut the board away and squeeze the 2 x 12 in there, and it ruins the angle.

If he used the right wood and you do it right, they are great ramps well worth the money make them the distance you want it, but there’s usually a rule of thumb when it comes to it read the directions

The ramp ends are just fine, very sturdy and well made. However, the packaging leaves a lot to be desired and is the reason for four stars rather than five. The cardboard box containing the contents is simply not heavy duty enough for the job. One end had ripped open and was repaired with tape at some point. The other end had then been ripped open as well but not repaired with tape. This resulted in me getting a set that was missing the mounting kit. Being to far and time consuming to return the package just to reorder another one, I had to go to the local hardware store to purchase the needed hardware required to mount the metal ramps to the wood. Obviously an inconvenience and added expense I shouldn’t have had to incur. Box them up better would be the simple solution.

Just bought this kit and love it. I have a shed and the height above the ground ended up being a lot higher than I thought(16-18 inches). I was going to use 2 2X12's for the stringers but obviously 12 inches is not high enough. I searched high and low and found that I could use this Brok solution. It's really easy to install. Just line up and mark the holes and dirll a 5/32 inch hole in a 2X12. After that hammer the screw through the board; then attach the kit to the board and tighten the bolts. I have 4 foot 2X12's and the diagram recommended I use a 5 1/2 foot ramp length. Still the 4ft boards worked fine. I also bought ramp ends from another seller but I really didn't even need to use this. I have a 28 inch Snapper riding mower that weights 300 lbs. I highly recommend this product.
