I needed two of these units to use in a 20 year old floor installation. I knew the dimensions were about 1 or 2 millimeters wider than needed, so used a drum sander on a drill to widen the installed pvc sleeve. Worked extremely well and fit perfectly. Good directions and good quality plug.

Looked a long time to find one that fit our floor. The old insert was installed at an angle and made finding one to fit difficult.

The gray plastic was a good match for our floors and fulfilled its intended purpose. Don’t expect it to be on a par with the $60 brass ones that are much easier to access and use. I would also hesitate to use plastic in a high traffic area where subject to breaking. But it’s fine for the price and where ours are located.

This floor outlet with solid brass cover is a quality product. I am replacing an old, damaged floor outlet and, unfortunately, this would not fit my application. So I cannot address durabilty. But, being solid brass instead of brass plate is a real plus. I think it is well worth the higher cost.

The concrete floor box trims do not fit standard size floor box pipe they're a little bit too big I try to hammer it in and it was just bending the pipe so beware before purchase

Could not understand why the difference in price between this item, and the exact same other one on this website, for almost DOUBLE the price.I thought maybe one brought more electrical components, so I bought both to be safe for when electricians came to install.Observations:1. They both look EXACTLY the same. The brass color almost indistinguishable between the two.2. One is made out of metal/brass.The less expensive one is made out of a plastic, hard shell polymer of some sort.3. You can tell the difference because of the weight. Brass one is twice as heavy as plastic one.4. The black top parts are made of soft rubber. Very pliable, and as you can see in pics, they cover the side of outlet if you're not using it.5. The GFCI outlets in pics I bought separately, b/c I wanted them to be water resistant, sturdier, etc. I recommend a light color GFCI (Light Grey in pics), so you can see inside when you're plugging in something. Black against a black background not great visibility, as GFCI is recessed about 2 inches.( The purple marks were made by electricians to align the screws of the base to the top ring, etc. )( I had both installed, in different rooms )Conclusion... Visually, they look EXACTLY the same. I would say that if it's going to be installed in the middle of a room where they're going to be stepped on, definitely go with the metal brass one. If it's going to be in a non traffic area, in a corner like mine are, then go with the less expensive plastic one. :)

Replaced old brass covers which required the plug cover (when in use) to be perpendicular to the cover-ugly. The brush filaments accommodates the cords perfectly. The outlets compliment and add a richness to our new install wood flooring.

Im sure they are great but they are bigger than your standard residential floor box. So beware ;-)
