Your cart is empty.This 3 piece set of massive chisels is useful for large framing work when working on very deep mortises, where blade strength is required. The set 3 piece set contains the following sizes: 1", 1-1/2" and 2" .They have the square sides found on traditional firmer chisels. All come with 9 inch Ash handles and 10-1/2 inch blades that are over 3/8 inch thick near the ferrules. Overall lengths are 19-/2 inches. Have a traditional bolsters, double steel hoops and leather shock washers. Forged from special Sheffield steel to ensure a perfect balance of toughness, edge retention and sharpness. Each chisel is diamond hardness tested before leaving the factory. Each chisel comes fitted with protective leather tip guards.

Bought these for several upcoming timber framing projects and just used them for the first time. Super impressed. Sharp out of the box, but a quick stropping made them even better. Takes mallet strikes like nothing and hold their edge surprisingly long. Heirloom tools to say the least
