This is the genuine replacement light. It basically sits across the contactor for the heating elements, such that when the elements are powered, this light goes out. Once the target temperature is reached and the thermostat shuts of the heating elements, this light comes on carrying the voltage across the contactor. Basic but functional.Installation is not difficult PROVIDED that you do everything in the correct order. Most important: Do not attach the plastic insulators for the spade terminals until AFTER the light has been slipped through the panel hole AND all the mounting hardware is attached. Basically, do the terminal stuff LAST.It's staggering to pay $20+ for a pilot light, but it's nice to have ours working again.
