The Burris XTR rings were exactly what I wanted and I am very pleased with them. Only ONE thing left a bad taste in my mouth...I was tempted to install them straight out of the box but in an abundance of caution (as I am looking for precision in shooting results) I mounted my polishing bar and found the interior of the rings were not very round... Of course, it did polish out and resulted in an excellent fit but -- I was disappointed it was not much closer to round out of the box. This does not deter me as I just bought another set of rings today. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

These Burris 420180 XTR Rings (1-Inch, Low, Black) worked perfectly for mounting a Burris 2-7 x 32 Scout Scope on my Springfield M1A rifle. The mounts are acceptably lightweight and extremely durable/secure, and they place the scope as low as possible so that I can use a natural cheek weld on the factory stock, without need for a riser, to get a great sight picture through the scope. With six screws to each mount, they take a little time to set up, but once installed they're rock solid. Although not technically "quick detach," the nut-style attachment screws would make it pretty easy to pull the scope off the rail in a hurry if you needed to, but are more secure than mounts that use quick-detach levers (which, in my experience, tend to loosen under recoil). If you're needing a high quality, high durability set of rings to mount a 1" diameter scope, these are a great bet. Just make sure you get the height you need to allow proper clearance for your desired configuration.

Great rings. Nice and solid. I always true rings with a lapper and I have two pairs of these (soon to have 3) and there is little to true because they line up great. The main thing I love about these is the height. I don't know why but it is very difficult to find 30mm rings with this height (especially if you don't want to spend a $100+), which is unfortunate because I think it is the perfect height for putting a scope on an AR. Other scope ring manufacturers seem to skip this height, and their rings are either a little to low or a little to high. These are perfect for a good cheek weld with a scope on an AR.

Well made rings but a little on the heavy side. No complaints about their build quality and to be honest overkill for my needs but I'm pleased with them none the less.

*In reference to 1" Medium rings. These rings are made very well. They are very beefy and seem extremely sturdy. I really like the fact that the scope is held by 6 screws per ring. It's extra security and peace of mind as your absorbing recoil. Before these I had purchased a pair of UTG rings also held by six screws that for the price, were ok but these definitely trump them. I mounted these on a Talley base and torqued them down to 15 inch pounds using a wheeler torque wrench. I highly recommend using blue locktite and tightening down using a star pattern (similar to tightening down lug nuts) when securing screws on rings. I did lap these rings before I secured my scope but it didn't seem completely necessary. I personally just like to do it because I have the tools necessary to complete the job (Wheeler Scope mounting set). Make sure you get proper eye relief and torque these down. Allow the locktite to rest for 24 hours then go send lead down range. For the price, they are a great value for any budget build.*Rings were mounted on a Talley 20 MOA slanted base and hold a Vortex Diamondback HP 4x16x42 on a Remington 700 Varmint .308** Rings arrived on time and were securily packaged.

Nice big heavy duty rings and a nice height. The description says they only fit picatinny bases but they work on weaver style bases too

I use these rings on a savage 17/117 chambered in .243Rem. They are solid & steady. I like the style and aesthetics. I also have these rings on a Ruger 10/22 model #1262...they are over-kill as far as being strong and solid (for general rimfire use), light weight, again I like the aesthetics and have found them to be very strong and reliable for a behind-seat-of-truck-22. I use the Burris AR-P.E.P.R. on a S&W M&P 15 PC AR-style Predator Hunting rifle it has similar aesthetics & is a solid mount as well. There are instances where I would use other rings (when a very smooth, contoured or "classic" style is preferred) but the Burris XTR are my go to rings to try first. Except for air rifles I do prefer Burris and Leupold (listed alphabetically not preferencial order) with Nikon being a very distant 3rd choice (rings & mounts NOT optics). The optics I use are mostly Nikon and Leupold (with the exception of air rifles). I highly recommend Burris XTR tactical scope rings.
