These brads are not as good-looking as others I had in the past—cheaper-looking with hard edges—but they are functional. Two of the medium sizes are very similar but I am pleased with the small and large sized brads. Get these brads if you don’t care what they look like. Can’t speak to the durability over time but they have held up so far ( a few weeks ).

I purchased this set because I could not find the longest size sold alone in black. I needed to replace similar fasteners in a basket restoration project. The dimensions appeared to be the same (I measured carefully), lengthwise, as my original fasteners, but the overly bulbous shape takes up more of the usable length than anticipated. The fastener that I am replacing had "legs" that were attached to a piece of metal near the bottom of the head, but these "legs" are attached to the highest inside part of the head itself. The fasteners also seem rather flimsy for the advertised use in craft projects. I will keep them to use with paper but will need to find something better for this project.
