This product says it is dishwasher safe. IT IS NOT. I washed it in the dishwasher and it completely corroded. You cannot handle it without getting your hands black. It is unusable now since I don't want my butter to have black on it from this product.

I'm not 100% this entire thing is stainless steel. I think they are talking about the wire used on this. Feels too light to be made of steel. Despite that it works. The wire used is pulled nice and tight. tried it on semi soft buttle. i only had it out the fridge a few mins. Works as intended. Butter will kinda stick back together over time if too soft when cutting.

Not dishwasher safe as advertised, this dulled into a dark grey the first time I put it through the dishwasher, similar to aluminum. It does, however work well and you can slice a whole stick of butter or margarine for serving or pastry making very easily. The two screws in the bottom allow you to tighten up the wires should they loosen with use.
