I get to be the first review. I very rarely leave reviews unless I think it’s total crap or if I think it is absolutely terrific! I bought another one of these with decent-ish reviews. It was crap. The wires were super flimsy and felt like they were going to break pushing through a stick of butter that had been in the counter for about half an hour. Felt like it was going to break while I was washing it. It was a different kind of product from this but the same idea. I was hesitant to buy this one because there were NO reviews on it yet. And not only was it the cheapest one, (half the price of others) but it also had a coupon making it dirt cheap! But I thought, hey, it couldn’t be any worse than the one I just got (and returned) and it’s way way cheaper so it will be worth the gamble. Well let me tell you the quality of this is superb! I could tell as soon as I opened it. As a matter of fact, the first thing we even tried it on was a block of cheese for New Year’s Eve! Where has this been all my cheese cutting life? It actually felt durable enough to try that for the first use! It didn’t feel at all like it was going to break! Today, I stood an 8 oz block of butter on its side straight out of the fridge and it went through perfectly! You only need to push that last 1/16 of an inch or less, through with your thumbs because there is no way to get the wires all the way down because of the small lip. You can’t avoid that. But oh my golly this is the bomb diggity! It fits over a regular stick of butter just perfect. Every 2 slices (of butter) is a tablespoon. Just remember that. I am honored to get to be the first review. Don’t let the lack of reviews or the cheap price scare you. This one is quality!

This is a great little tool! Nice quality, and compact enough to lay flat in a drawer. Makes cutting bitter sticks a breeze!

I tested this using a standard brick of Cabot cheese from the grocery store. I had to cut the brick in half because it was longer than the slicer, but no big deal. This easily went through the refrigerated cheese. The wire is really sturdy and perfectly spaced for cheese, butter, hardboiled eggs, etc. The only drawback is that the sides sit about an 1/8" lower than the wires so it doesn't completely cut through all the way, but you simply need to turn it over and push the food item the rest of the way with your thumbs. I cut an entire brick of cheese in less than a minute. A knife or cheeseboard cutter takes WAY longer. I strongly recommend this so much that I've already sent the link to a friend.
