Easy to install, and an effective way to keep switches and receptacles code compliant when external insulation and thicker siding are added to an existing building. I will probably also be using some indoors in rooms where drywall and plywood paneling were added over original tongue and groove walls. The top and bottom tabs can be broken off or half can be broken off as needed to optimize fit to a particular situation. No volume markings so by code they don’t allow you to add more wires to a small j-box but practically speaking, they certainly allow extra room to work with the wires you already have.

They are too tall and too wide. They don't fit in the existing boxes and are not tapered. Many modern boxes are larger than old boxes so they may work in newer appliances but they definitely don't on older styles. Which is weird because I've never had this problem other than with these extensions.

I did a little project for our half bath where I added beadboard and trim, replaced fixtures, and put in a basin sink. The beadboard made it so the wall outlet was recessed, so this worked perfectly to bring the outlet forward in the box and allow you to make it flush again. You can zoom in on my photo and see how seamless it looks! The value is good for Amazon, and even though I only needed one, the other may come in handy for future projects.

Have one location where thin stone will be applied where light switch outlet resides and another where unique wood trim will reside. This product will allow setting switch and cover plate depths to the exact distance needed once trim and stone are installed. Far nicer than a fixed length box extension.
