I added this valve to my soft water system that I installed. I used 2" long nipples to thread into the valve. I have had leaks from the valve side to the nipple for weeks. I have tried different nipples, pvc and metal. I used plumbers tape still leaked. I used heavy duty plumbers tape still leaked. I used pipe dope it still leaked. I used plumbers tape and pipe dope. I was about to give up and read to try pipe dope, heavy duty tape and pipe dope again. Finally no leaks. I am not sure but I feel the threads on the valve were not very good. My nipples would only thread in about 2 turns. I probably should of just returned this but wasnt sure if they are all like this or I just had a bad one.

This was a perfect match for the old one. Easy to replace and the action is smooth. Very good quality and no leaks.

I liked the fast delivery. I find your request to rate the feature of 'sheerness' and 'thickness' on a score of 1 to 5 nothing short of weird and strange. Can you explain in quantitative terms how to rate 'sheerness' and 'thickness' on a Fleck 5600 SS bypass valve? Thick where ? and in which dimension. How does one rate sheerness for sandcast and machined stainless steel fitting.

Needed to replace my old bypass valve because it was chrome plated brass and it had too much corrosion of the chrome. This stainless Valve is much better and should be the last I will ever need. And to the people that complained about the valve being too constricting of the water flow, the old valve was the same. And I think that the people who designed the whole system know how to size the valve for the intended purpose.

This should be the standard that comes with all of their softeners. Solved a leak that I had with the standard plastic bypass that had a side load from using flexible metal hose for installation of the softener

Great product, Make sure you don't install it backwards as all softeners are not the same. Pay close attention to the arrows on both the valve and your softener.
