Although this can be used for anything really, the loose leave attachment is nice if you like loose leaf tea (which I do sometimes). The compartment on the top I noticed is not shown a purpose on the listing. I guessed and it fit the spoon within (as seen in my pictures). The spoon is a little odd, but works just perfectly. I like that the spoon fits in that space in case you want to use the cop for coffee with creamer or hot cocoa or such where you would want a spoon. Easy to take apart and clean.
