These writing gels aren't the easiest to use. When opening the product, you have to make sure it doesn't spill out quickly and get everywhere. The product is watery and it does take a while to dry out.

To encourage my niece’s love of baking, I ordered her these gels. She had a great time decorating the cake she made us for Christmas. The colors are great. The were a gel, but more on the side of a thin gel.

A nice range of gel colors for lettering on cookies and cakes. Tip must be cut off before use, so be sure to cut with something sharp to ensure the cleanest opening.EDITED TO ADD: Be sure to do some test lettering on a plate or parchment before using these on your baked goods -- the first squirts for me came out pretty watery. Then, I put the cupcakes I decorated into the freezer for a bit after using these writing gels on them to make sure it didn't run. Deducting one star from my review due to this.

My teens had a blast decorating Xmas and NYE cookies with these new rainbow gels. They tubes were really easy to use. Just cut off the tip and they're ready to go! The gel is a little on the sweet side but doesn't have much flavor. It didn't take away from the other frosting or sweetness of the cookies. After a few days, the gel never fully dried. Simply got a little softer. The soft gel does make it hard to stack cookies on top of one another though without ruining your designs. That wouldn't really be a problem if your using them to decorate cakes & cupcakes though. Either way, these frosting gels are bright, colorful and a lot of fun! I would order them again.

These were shipped in a plain plastic bag which unfortunately didn't offer enough protection. When I opened it up, the red one had leaked inside the bag all over the the other tubes. I washed them off and tried to identify where the leak came from, it was out of a hairline crack in the rear end of the tube opposite of the nozzle. My son used these for decorating Christmas cookies. The frosting has a gel-like consistency and is somewhat translucent. The colors like yellow are very runny/clear. The taste is pretty good. The caps can be screwed back on so they can be used for more than one project.

This doesn't work well at all. I decorated a sugar cookie with it, waiting 24 hours for it to dry and it's still completely wet and tacky, so I cannot stack any cookies on top of it. It is also translucent, so it's lacking the great solid color that it could have. Not to mention that the red was split open on the very top causing it to leak out over everything.

This is a great variety of decorating gels. I got them thinking maybe they'd be useful for our cookie making day, but these work better for adults than kids--they're pretty difficult for kids to use with any detail control. But they're not advertised for kids, so that's fine. You do have to cut the tip off to use them, which I wasn't expecting. The first tube ended up a little ragged before I found sharper scissors.

Got these for a holiday cup cake decorating party. Great bright colors gel like frosting but for writing or doing designs. 9 colors in squeeze tubes. Fun way to decorate, get a good amount of colors.
