It definitely seems like a little lower quality than the JD pulley, but for the price it seems alright. I don't like the screw that comes with it and recommend either the TORX head or a hex head to replace it. Otherwise, the parts seem comparable- spring seems equally stiff, sizes on everything is right. The aluminum cladding on the plastic sheave doesn't seem super well bonded/crimped but i don't think it should be an issue.

I replaced this along with the belt because my mower was driving slower than it should. This part wasn't damaged on my mower but the belt was worn and thinner than the new general transmission belt. I think the belt was the main issue but I replaced this because it's a common fail point and good to replace while the transmission is out.

Works perfectly but need to know the trick to compressing the spring to install. Put the spring in a vice to compress and secure it with thin wire. Found some great videos online.

Heavier spring and slightly longer screw to allow for adding a washer to the spring cap. Fixed my issue, rides like new.
