Your cart is empty.Camco's RV Anode Rod with Drain is a sacrificial rod that extends the life of your water heater tank by absorbing the corrosion causing particles in the water. As a result, the water corrodes the rod rather than your water heater tank. This product is compatible with Atwood-style aluminum water heaters. The 5/8-inch OD magnesium anode rod measures 4 ½-inches long and has ½-inch NPT threads. It features an internal drain valve, allowing you to drain your water heater without tools.

I have a 2001 lance pick up camper with an atwood, hot water tank and this is a direct replacement. I only use my camper 3 to 4 times a year and I hadn’t replaced this for three years. When I went to replace it this summer, the anode had completely disappeared off the old one. I’ll definitely be looking to replace this every two years at a minimum now.

The only Anode rod I will use. They are very easy to replace as I replace mine after after camping season. Works very well in helping to maintain my hot water heater in my camper.

Goes in ,on Atwood propane line runs near plug. No leaks... Yet. Will update. You need a 7/8 wrench and Teflon tape.

I was expecting a bit of trouble installing anode rod because of where our existing hot water tank drain was located. The rod fit in and around the existing hot water tank components perfectly. Designed like it was supposed to fit.

Purchased to drain hot water heater easier than using a 27MM socket to keep draining it, and to prevent threads from being damaged. Have to purchase adapter in order to connect it to the hot water heater. Item too small, and falls into hot water heater.

This Anode Rod comes complete with the plug and petcock drain installed. I removed my hot water heaters exhaust flange to help give some clearance for removal as it has only 3 small sheet metal screws securing it. I used a 7/8" open end wrench to removed old anode and valve, Rinsed out tank for seasonal maintenance with garden hose and RV rinse out attachment also sold by camco. I used a few wraps of Teflon tape or you can use the paste to help seal the Rod bushing. being careful not to over tighten. Reinstalled the exhaust outlet and was good to go. I checked the fittings for leaks upon our last trip and found everything in good order. The old rod was over half gone so replacement was needed as well as a lot of sediment and calcium settled in the tank. I was happy with the quality and fitment of this anode rod. The last one lasted about 4 yrs.

been using it for a year now. A must have for RV hot water tank. You can see the Anode Rod is working because after a year of using you can see pits all over it. The drain valve also makes draining easy.
