The fit was perfect and the re and re was easy . Saved a vintage shock which the local bike shop wanted to replace for huge $$. Works as good as it did 20 years ago .

I needed to fix my old shock. Bike shop said it was too old to fix. Kit worked and saved me money.

Over time the AD-5 shock leaks. Cane Creek has a good design in that it is serviceable. MOST of the time you will only need the larger o ring. Problem is it is a specific design and not readily available. It's a bit pricey but way cheaper than buying another shock. Take your time and use plenty of grease. When reassembled I pumped it up in a but of water and no leaks. Overall very satisifed

Good quality parts; all there. Shock works like new. Fantastic!

Was a little concerned about getting a seal kit for such an old shock, but I shouldn’t have worried. It was easy to install and made the shock work like new.

Replacing some rubber seals isn't too hard. (You'll need a 3 mm spanner tool, though.) My problem was a leak other than seal related. For the money a re-build kit costs, I bought a used AD-5, and THAT worked out well. Re-building isn't too hard. You may need more grease, though.

Instructions were great, had all the o-rings I needed. There was nowhere near enough grease, it was a pea sized dollop. No volume adjustment plate, but then I guess since it's metal it doesn't wear, and I shouldn't have to replace it?I'm still getting a slow leak from the bottom of the piston shaft around the bushing, so we keep pulling it apart and checking everything to see why air is moving past the volume adjustment plate. Now considering a replacement shock, but there only seems to be one that's under $100.

This kit has everything needed to rebuild the AD-5 shock, you might not need all the items that come with it but it is a plus to have them. It is easy to do, just follow the instructions.
