Great Ball for warming up prior to playing. Also using it to help break on a new gamer.

I bought my first cannonball about 25 years ago from the inventor who was selling them out of his house in California. I used to play 150+ softball games a year including days with 4 or more games per day. My arm would stiffen up between games and getting it loose again would take more and more throws exhausting my arm in the process.Enter cannonball. It takes only 10 to 20 soft toss/lob throws with proper form to loosen your arm. Another 10 throws with a real ball and you are good to go. Cannonball changed my warmup routine by saving me throws and allowing my arm to last longer into tournaments.Side effects included added arm strength and throwing velocity gradually with use in warmups over time, it makes your real ball feel like a wiffle ball and most of your teammates will want to borrow it.Lastly, I bought a second one because my son will not give me back my cannonball. He has been using it since little league. He was surprised to see a new Cannonball came with rubber baseball seams. Besides the seams wearing off my original Cannonball it is in the same condition as the new one.

Hadn’t played in over 20 years so was very rusty throwing my first time back on the diamond. After a week of tossing it against a school wall saw a huge improvement. Bounces great as well so it comes back quickly. Ball seems so much lighter after tossing this. Would definitely recommend for all levels. Wish I had this when I was playing rep ball.

Good quality weighted ball. My daughter uses this for practice as a catcher to be work on keeping strikes in the strike zone after catching the ball. The pitcher she usually catches for has a rocket of an arm, so when she catches the ball, it can push her glove ever so slightly, and sometime this is enough to put the catchers glove just outside the strike zone. I've been throwing this to my daughter every few days for 30-50 pitches per session, and she's been able to really work on her glove positioning strength to keep the glove in the strike zone. These are also, and probably more commonly, used as a pitcher's tool. But it's worked great to help my daughter as catcher. At 12 years old, she's an itty bitty small girl, and this cannonball has helped quite a bit to build strength.

Play in a slow pitch adult softball league twice a week and have used these to warm up for throwing before games for over 10 years now. There are lighter weighted balls on the market, but I prefer this one because it is heavier than everything else I've found.I've found that the extra weight helps me focus on proper throwing form or else I'd throw out my elbow if I just flung this around, and it also helps me stretch my muscles a bit quicker than I would if I warmed up throwing a regular weighted softball. For adults who have never used this product, start out close and slow. I'm middle aged and my first few tosses are from about 12 paces from my throwing partner. Start out with a slow and exaggerated throwing motion, being sure to follow through and then work your way to greater distances to what you're comfortable with. After about 15+ tosses, I finish my warmup tosses with a regular softball that comparatively feels like nothing in my hands and it's a good feeling to zing the ball around the field in games afterwards. They do bounce funny (like those small rubber "super balls" we played with as kids), so I wouldn't recommend warming up solo against a wall or trying to short hop them if your throwing partner throws short.

I feel stronger throwing this. A friend told me to limit the use. Practice with care, and finish off with throwing a normal softball increasing distance and velocity to train your muscle memory.

The Cannonball comes in 3 colors (Blue, Red, Yellow). In the winter I take my daughter to an indoor facility to practice and for pitching lessons. The blue and red Cannonballs are difficult to see in the florescent light of the indoor facilities. Outside, it is not an issue. If you are going to be practicing inside, I suggest going with the yellow Cannonball.

My son-in-law takes his soft ball seriously. He really plays to win and has broken several bones to prove it. He wanted a weighted ball for warm up. He is thrilled with the ball for warm up. It has a nice texture and is not slippery.

Awesome tool if you use it correctly. Use it for strengthening for various pitches - including rise ball. Be careful - do not go 100% FULL - about 45% max speed. Would NOT recommend throwing full circle (over head) - use K position to work wrists and arm position. Heavy ball weight can cause are damage if you use this improperly.
