Carb is different from original, with an extra butterfly valve, but it works just fine without any modification.

Perfect fit for my briggs 5hp lawnmower. Lawnmower was running rough needing carburetor. These were fraction of the OEM costs and worked great. Mower been running good for 5 months now, no problems. Thank you

I found OEM carburetors going for $45 to $60. I watched people taking apart their failing carburetor, replacing pins, jets, etc. Do yourself a favor. If this carburetor fits your mower, BUY IT! It was so easy to install and my mower fired up on the first pull. For about $15 you can't beat it!!!

Wow! 2016 Briggs 625ex husqvarna, barnyard find. Cleaned, repaired and replaced just about everything and started it up to discover engine ran at a very low speed so I bent the gov spring bracket forward to add tension and that governor arm was bouncing back and forth like crazy trying to keep up. The old spring looked fine no rust, but i knew something wasn't right and I shouldn't have needed to bend it that far forward. I had even checked the governor arm to make sure it was on it's proper place. When I replaced it with this new Briggs oem gov spring and started that old mower back up, it sounded like a new machine. No surging, hunting actually had to bend the gov spring bracket back and into the opposite direction to bring the rpms down to 3200. That might be because I modified the carb, but it's running like a champ, now just need to change the oil, check/set valve clearance and put the new drive belt on. I learned today how important a new, properly tensioned governor spring is and will definitely be replacing these more often as a part of basic mower maintenance.

The part was slightly different than the original as it had one extra butterfly valve the original didn't have. However it fit fine and it works like new.
