Metal distributor that was a drastic improvement over the OEM plastic one.

Was having a hard time with distributors feom other companies, when I ordered this one I decided to order 2. The first one was not letting me set the timing would not get away from 30 degrees. Put the other one on and that one worked well.

The quality was very good. All metal base. This is much better quality than the original plastic and better than the 65 dollar unit I had to replace. The sensor module is better sealed as well than the cheapy units.

I got this to replace the OEM plastic distributor that had damage to the hold down for the cap. Nice metal construction should last a while. Fit just fine in the vortec 5.7 v8 on my 99 k1500. Installation is pretty straightforward if you are handy with some basic tools. Get cylinder 1 to top dead center the. Make sure you line up the rotor with the right mark on the distributor and it goes in without issue.

No issues. Good as oem so far after 2 months.

This is cheaper than replacing the cap, rotor and gear on the OEM plastic distributor. And... you can make a oil pump drive indexing tool out of the old distributor, which is handy for getting the base timing perfect. I feel much better about replacing parts in the future on an all aluminum distributor... also liked that the cap had brass sleeves in the screw holes to prevent squashing the ears off the cap.

Received in error in place of the orange street pylon I actually ordered, I tried it out any way and much to my surprise it felt great. Will be keeping and have ordered a 2nd. When its in, rotating the rotor is a blast.

My Suburban was suffering random no start issues due to ignition problems. I decided to try this distributor since it costs less than half as much as an OEM part. That was a good idea for about 1000 miles. The engine started misfiring and gave a fault for cylinder #2 misfire. After ruling out the spark plug and wire, I installed the old cap off the original distributor. Now it runs fine.

I threw this in today with no problems. It is working great. I had to clear the codes and tweak it once to get the cam sensor aligned. It fixed the issues I knew were related to the distributor. Mostly my cap was bad and the base was broken. This was less expensive than the last cap I bought from Napa.If anything changes I will post an update.Just slow down a bit. Make sure you index the position of your rotor before you pull it. Then the position it rotates to before you rotate it at all. Position the rotor at your second mark and put it in. The base always aligns so that the wires are from either side. The front cap bolt hole is off centered enough to clear the intake plenum. This is really an easy fix. Obviously do not rotate the engine while it is out. Then it becomes a PITA.

Better than photo. Actually all aluminum shaft and aluminum base. Glad it was this as my stock one with the lower plastic base where you screw in screw to retain cap, snapped to where the screw had nothing to hold onto, hence, a cap that would not stay down. This happened when i replaced cap and rotor, new screws to hold down cap were actually different thread type that were every so slightly larger, when screwing in, that every so slightly larger thread size cracked the plastic hole on the plastic base of the stock unit. Little things that make you go hmmmmmm.A GOOD THING............DON'T GO BY THE PICTURE, THIS IS ALL ALUMINUM and glad it is as the screw to hold down cap will never break the base again. Shame on oem for ever making a plastic base to break anyways.Have not installed it yet, but sure to please for this one reason in particular.

I was surprised at the quality of this part when I got it. Aluminum base and overall better than OEM for my 96 Chevy. I would recommend this for anyone that doesn't want to give the auto parts store some extra money. You will not beat the quality and the price is very good compared to your local auto parts store...
