They do in fact make light as you would expect and the magnetic metal strips provided are sufficiently adhesive in the short term. How long the adhesive properties last in the summer heat of a car is unknown. More on these later. But in my experience that is where the positives end.The magnets in the back of the lights I received aren't strong enough to keep the light in place on the steel strip and it slides all over, constantly moving the IR sensor. A couple tiny tabs or ridges on the back of the light to restrict movement could easily remedy that. For testing purposes the light was installed with a small strip of Nano tape to keep it held in place securely. Sometimes the light comes on when the car door gets opened, but more often than not, it does nothing until you wave something across the light's IR sensor. Upon closing the door, the light does not turn off even with the provided silver sticker less than a quarter-inch away. Opening the car door and putting your finger tip in front of the IR sensor turns it off, but when relying on the car's door jam and sticker placement does not work in my case.The basic functionality the product was supposed to offer is not present in my opinion, other than the light actually lighting up and changing colors. Don't get me wrong, that is great if you want to set them on your table and look at them flash and blink or whatever.All in all, not a recommendation based on my overall experience.

These were super easy to install, literally just stick them on the bottom of your doors. No installation needed. One of them was missing a couple color options (ie the blue and green didn’t work). I got a replacement and all is well again. I do wish they were a bit brighter or stronger color. Maybe my interior lights are just extra bright and that’s why these are difficult to see? Not sure. Worth it for the price though. They’ve been working for a few weeks now on the first charge

These work well most of the time. The lights are pretty bright for being so small. Sometimes the light doesn't come on when the door opens even with the little Infared sticker. But the charge lasts a very long time. It's easy to install. You just charge them up and put them where you want them. It's that easy. It's worth the price.

So I misunderstood how to put the magnetic adhesive on, BUT I improvised and went and bought some adhesive Velcro and made it work. Colors are super bright and work very well! , would buy again if I needed too and you should too!

I wanted these to place under my car doors so there'd be light on the ground when the door opens. I wasn't sure if they'd fit when the door closes but they do and I'm happy to say, it's fantastic. Open door, light comes on, riders can see where they're stepping, water, ice pothole, whatever. I absolutely recommend these. They're amazing. I have a 24 honda civic hatchback. EDIT: Really liked these so I ordered another set but one has a problem. It is missing the white light completely and the green light may or may not come on. Also one was completely battery drained. Hopefully that one works right.
