This griddle is very useful. It can be set on the grill, used in the oven, or the stovetop. The cast iron is heavy and good quality. We really like the grill side for getting nice sear marks on things like steak or a salmon filet and then being able to let it finish cooking in the oven. The griddle side is great for pancakes, breakfast scrambles. Really anything you need a large cooking surface for.

The -1 star is for no drip tray. But it fits perfectly over 2 burners on my gas stove. I have not grilled anything on the grooved surface, so no experience there.Make sure you get it hot enough so your food doesn't stick!After cooling down, a gentle scrub with a plastic mesh scrubber seems to do the trick, then a light coating of oil.

Was looking through Monument grill accessories hoping to find a cast iron griddle plate that can replace the original grill grate for my Mesa 400 grill, but couldn't find one available. Found this generic cast iron griddle plate instead that its dimension is close enough (16.5" x 9.5") to the original grill grate dimension (16.3" x 9.5"), hence giving it a try. It fit snugly inserting into the grove that hold the grill grate!Used it twice so far to cook eggs, veggies, and steak. Seasoned the plate before and after use. Food cooked to the desired char, but cleaning does need a bit of scrubbing; although I wasn't expecting it to be like non-stick pan anyway.Wanted to give 5 stars, but looks like one of the corner already have the black coating chipping off after a couple of use. Will see how well it hold up.

Like it, but very heavy. Not complaining about weight because that is what makes it effective.But some people might not like handling it.
