About this item

  • Brushless power from the leader in aftermarket upgrades, the Sidewinder 4 builds upon Castle's most popular platform, the SIDEWINDER 1:10 SCALE SERIES.
  • The Sidewinder line of ESCs are our Sport-Class Surface Speed Controllers. They're designed to withstand the most abusive environments while keeping your ride moving fast and cool. They are sensorless and have loads of Castle Power!
  • CRYO-DRIVE TECHNOLOGY combines cutting-edge hardware and software advancements to significantly increase thermal performance by reducing the amount of time the ESC’s electrical components spend generating heat. Your setup will be able to handle higher gear ratios, in heavier vehicles, with longer runs.
  • COOLER TEMPS mean LONGER RUNS and MORE POWER in your SIDEWINDER 4 setup.
  • Fully programmable using a Castle Link USB adapter (sold separately) and freely downloadable Castle Link Windows software or the Castle Link App for Android or iOS and a B-LINK Bluetooth Adapter (sold separately).

The SIDEWINDER 4 SCT EDITION COMBO includes a SIDEWINDER 4 ESC, featuring CRYO-DRIVE Technology, and a 1410-3800Kv brushless motor. This pairing is perfect for short course trucks running on 2s LiPo and weighing up to 6.5 lbs; it can be run on a 3s LiPo with very conservative gearing. It is a cooling running torque animal for lighter 1/10th scale 2WD stadium trucks and buggies running up to a 3s LiPo. Our 4-pole 12-slot motor designs boast exceptional efficiency, and the oversized NMB bearings and vibration dampening system ensure the longest bearing life possible. High-strength, high-temperature grade neodymium sintered magnets combined with a high-strength Kevlar wrap ensures the integrity of the rotor is not compromised during harsh running conditions. You will reap the benefits of longer run times on one battery and a cooler running motor that can be pushed harder. SEND IT with a SIDEWINDER!

Everything about this is over powering for a 2wd slash. Extremely fun an durable the only issue is the fan starts acting funny if it gets wet. It starts to surge. Other then that i run 21p 86 spur doing 53 ish mph. on track is is just as good very durable doesn't over heat when ran modest on the track will last a full battery pack on 3s lipo no break needed. my first purchase with castle very satisfied been running strong for a yr now.

I have bought several of the sw4 esc love the fact you can get the Bluetooth programmer for it, I’ve never had any issues with castle it would be cool if they came in rc cars to start with they are the only thing I put in my rc

Great combo used in my traxxas slash 2wd sct. Highly reccomend getting the castle link ($20) so you can really fine tune. You can adjust just about anything you want on this ESC.

LOVE - the price and power driven. Took advantage of the link system and works wonders. In objective comparisons with traxxas velineon, I found neck to neck. The traxxas would overheat quite faster than the castle. I have yet to have had a run on a 3s 5500mah that had not overheated. 70 degree max runs so far

I installed this in a 2wd Traxxas Slash and it fit and works perfectly. I used the RPM esc cage to mount it which made the whole process much easier and cleaner. It also meant that I did not have to Dremel out a mounting point in the chassis and could use screws instead of double sided tape to mount the esc. It is a touch overpowered for the stock tires and I replaced those with ProLine Badlands tires, but if you like spinning around in little doughnuts making a lot of dust, you can leave the stock tires on.

Get a fan for the motor of your run 3s and you go to go. Castle does it again with this excellent combo. Need a soldering gun to add male esc connector to battery.

With the respect that castle has in the rc community, I was expecting better from them as this was my first purchase from their line up but I have had problems with the esc from the rip. The fam is sporadic in operation making squealing noises and stopping and restarting. Never really getting to a full speed and maintaining. The on off switch only worked a few times before it became a nightmare to switch on so that it would stay on. As I see it , both fan and on/off switches are a new thing for castle .. my suggestion is to find better fans and switches. Other than these 2 issues I think all is fine. I replaced the fan myself and bypassed the switch until a new one arrives. I paid for fan and switch out of my own pocket. Castle, if your listening, wouldn't hurt my feeling if you reached out to me and gave a little support. I'm sure it's "covid crap" related but I have had no luck reaching anyone by phone. I sure would like to make contact as well as give a better review. I was saving for a mamba set but opted to try the sw4 but really wish I had waited. Thanks be safe and enjoy your rc hobby
