I didn’t want to stick it to the loveseat, I was afraid for the material, so I had my husband use a very small screw and put them through the wood on the loveseat. It’s saving the furniture ! Also, my son put one on the inside of his bedroom door and it’s protecting that as well.

I bought this because our 2 kittens have been scratching up the wall in the bathroom. This has helped immensely.

My cats have really done a number on one of the arms on my couch, and with the price of couches, I really didn't want to have to buy a new one just for them to keep destroying it. This scratching mat carpet comes in a long strip and you just trim off the size and shape that you need. The back peels off so that you can just stick the mat to any surface with the adhesive.After a few weeks on the couch, the square mat I put on hasn't budged. The adhesive is holding up really well on the couch fabric without tearing any more fibers out. I will say that the stickiness is better on flat areas than curved areas, like around the corner of a couch arm, where mine has peeled up a few times. It's easy enough to stick it right back down though.If you're not in the market to buy an entirely new couch and don't mind a few odd patches of scratching mat on your couch, this mat is perfect! I might even stick some on a wall for my more athletic, adventurous cat to climb on- though I'd be careful doing that if you rent or are really fond of your paint because the adhesive seems strong enough to peel paint off.

I got this as more a precaution and my cat hasn't used it yet as she prefers her cardboard one, but it seems of good quality and easy to use.
