I used this product for a fan light. It wasn't exactly like the one I removed, but it works and that is the big thing. Amazon was simple and effective as usual, but I get a little concerned by whether being perpetually signed in isn't a security risk. We need something that we can do or use which does NOT require a password or username, but can still authenticate me securely.

Simple, I cut the two wires to the old defective light switch and used insulated spade connections to wire up the new one.I fixed our Hunter ceiling fan for less than $10 so I'm happy with purchase!

Liked the brass on plastic outer cover and the brass thumb nut chain guide. Switch action is positive. Ball chain may not be strong enough for Tarzan swings across a child’s bedroom, but isn’t really designed for that. But, if you’ve had that happen somehow by someone named “Not Me”, this will repair the fan easily.

Works great, so far as it’s switching capability. However the threaded stud was too long to provide for the included (or existing fans) nut to tighten the switch securely against the side of the fan electrical housing. So, if no modifications are done to the switch, the switch will wobble and not secure even remotely snug to the fan enclosure. I had to make a makeshift spacer out of the old hollow nut the chain passes through in order to overcome the exceptionally long threads. This made the switch even a tighter fit (I venture to say most won’t be able to get it to fit due to cramped space in most of these enclosures). I can’t see any application where this would not be the case. I have installed about 1,000 fans in my career.Other than wobbly switch mounting, as mentioned above, and overcome with some creative engineering—it works fine. But who wants a wobbly switch that doesn’t let you pull the chain straight out the switch? I don’t, and I imagine you won’t either.

Works great. Took about 10 minutes to install and feels like the Hunter fan felt 40 years ago when it was new.
