Bought this to set up a natural gas connection for my Predator 5000 dual fuel generator. The purpose of this regulator is to only allow natural gas to go through the hose to the generator when the generator is running and providing suction. That way if the generator shuts off, natural gas does not continue flowing to the generator causing problems. Worked perfectly, and everything else I needed for my project such as a long 1/2” NG hose, and various size gas fittings were also available on Amazon. The priming button on this regulator is a must as it helps with getting gas through longer hoses and to your generator. Just make sure that you use a relatively short hose between this regulator and the generator itself, otherwise the generator might not provide enough suction to pull the natural gas through both the regulator and then through a long hose. Also, make sure your feed pressure for natural gas is 1/2 psi before it gets to this regulator. Mine was 2 PSI, so I had to buy an inexpensive gas regulator to lower it to 1/2 psi. I Bought this Regulator as part of a converter kit that I was using to convert my gas-powered generator to LP gas. It works great and I am well pleased with it. In my application I needed a reducer fitting to adapt it to three eights which I had a hard time finding, would have been nice it that fitting would have come with the regulator or mention in the ad that you would need it and offered as an extra that you would need in order to connect the LP line. For some inexplicable reason, the regulator came with a semi-permanent plug blocking the adjustment screw. When I received it, the regulator blew through gas simply from residential supply pressure (about 7iwc) and was not safe to use nor capable of running an engine. I had to cut out the plug with a dremel to access the adjustment screw and crank it way down to get it set properly to open under manifold vacuum and close when idle.Once I did that, works great to convert my dual-fuel Champion 4000w generator to tri-fuel. The little spring button on the back is a manual primer, which you can use to check that the valve opens and closes before you hook it up. Just had to buy fittings and find a good choke position to get the propane mode on the generator to work with NG.

I have a small 2200 watt generator that has been converted to run on LP on my RV. I wanted a second setup so I could use it at home if needed. The part I needed was this low pressure regulator. It is installed prior to the generator so as the generator is running it will supply the LP gas. The unit has a prime button that you use when you first start the generator. It worked great right out of the box and didn't require any adjustment. There are no instructions included but it is clearly marked with inlet/outlet. The hard part is finding the conversion kit for the generator, because this will not work without that conversion kit.

This allows me to run my 10KW generator on "city" gas (natural gas), or on propane (with a normal "gas grill" propane regulator upstream of this Kn regulator). The primer valve allows a cold start with natural gas (not needed in propane mode). This thing works tons better than a previous natural gas regulator I used. I didn't mess with any adjustments on this regulator, just plumbed it up right out of the box.If your generator isn't already set up for propane or natural gas, you need the whole kit with the hose and carb adapter (I just needed the regulator).
