Butter sticks to the blade. Tried it chilled and almost room temp, didnt work for us. Easier to use a knife.

This has a blade on one end and measurement markings on the bottom half. It is especially useful if you store your butter in the refrigerator. Nice feature to have when cooking.

So far, I have really enjoyed using this butter dish. Its durability is impressive, and it is straightforward to use. What makes it a keeper is how easy it is to clean. Okay so I was doom scrolling social media and found an article on Amazon must haves. It was for the cheese dish of this same brand, so I did a quick search to see if they made a matching butter dish... Score! Let me tell you this dish is amazing. It's easy to use and clean. Just perfect for a standard American stick of butter. Pancake day, here we come. Now I can make perfect pats of butter and keep the stick from getting squished.

I would recommend this product wholeheartedly. Cleaning it is a breeze and it's super durable. The design is attractive and it's definitely worth the price. The size is just perfect, not too big and not too small. Keeps my butter fresh, and the lid is so easy to handle. It neatly fits in my fridge and the butter is really easy to slice. I must say, I've grown fond of the Chef'n brand after this purchase. A truly satisfactory product in every aspect.

I cook a lot. I also use small amounts of butter frequently in my cooking. I always found it somewhat annoying to have to get out a knife in order to cut a small pat of butter because it meant traveling one direction away from the stove to get the knife, and then traveling in the opposite direction from the stove and around the island, in order to place the knife in or near the sink.Now, I can use the built-in cutting device to slice off the amount of butter I need, then put the lid back into position. The closed dish is easy to carry and fits perfectly on the butter shelf inside the refrigerator. No dirty knife, no added trip to the sink, and we use far fewer table knives between runs of the dishwasher! Since we only use genuine butter (no margarine), I find the cutter gives a nice clean cut without there being residue on the cutting blade as long as the butter is cold from the refrigerator. I mention this because one of the complaints I read said they found it to be "very messy". I almost didn't get this for that reason- I am glad I didn't let that keep me from buying because I do not find this to be the case. My daughter used it recently and now she wants one for her kitchen.
