We had been thinking of slimming down our chicken flock but with the cost of eggs we are instead growing the flock and will be hatching eggs this spring. This is a great setup for when chicks are ready to move out of the incubator. This includes board to construct a little pen which is great for keeping chicks safe. I will use the pen with some chips or hay on the floor. There are three feeders - two are the little box ones and one is a bottle one. There is one waterer and two little perches (you have to screw them together) for the baby chicks. There is a great brooder - which is basically a big warming plate to keep the chicks warm. My only complaint is that the legs that came with the brooder are kind of short - I will have to search for an alternate set of legs to make sure I have a taller option too. Finally there is a metal tripod to hang the heat lamp. The metal tripod is awesome and the chain for the lamp allows you to move the lamp up and down. This has all the things you’d need for raising a batch of baby chicks! This is very comprehensive and I’m excited about raising some baby chicks this spring!

Literally crapI think I was expecting more when I purchased this. The heat plate doesn’t warm up like the producers pride one from tractor supply I have in my other brooder. The food container pieces don’t lock in place well either.

The all in one brooder kit comes with everything you need to start off with a small flock of baby chicks. Some of the products are useful while others are not recommended in may opinion. With that said, the red plastic panels for forming a corral/pen is good but there is no floor so if its not put in the grass you will have wood chips all over your garage/living room floor. The foos trays are nice but once the chicks are about 2 to 3 weeks old you’ll need to switch to the gravity feeder that is included. The gravity feed water and grain set work well and i have not experienced any issued using them as at all. They are the lower end 5.99 a piece sets you’ll find at your local feed store. The perch bars are nice but too small for any practical use. The pen is big so why not a perch that accommodates 4 or 5 juvenile birds at once instead of 2 perch bars that will fit a total of 4 juvenile birds at best. While the tripod and heat lamp are nice I try to stay away from those since you cannot regulate the heat so unless your home all day to keep an eye out on the chicks, use with caution. Lastly, the heating plate in nice but you have to make sure you are using the right amount of heat and height so that the chicks can move in and out from underneath it as they choose. While it is a nice kit and good for those who are new to then hobby of raising chickens, it say it would be better suited at a price range of 79.99 to 89.99 as the 129.99 price tag seems a bit much for the mid range products you are receiving.

It's really good, but it's not great. I love the ease of setting it up. Goes together super quick, but the corrogated plastic is not of the most superior quality, so if you're not careful and easy on it...it's going to bend rather easily. The warming brooder plate does it's own thing despite the "set" function. It hasn't overheated or acted scary, so that's good. The plastic feed and water items are subpar and won't last very long if you're not very careful with them. I'm too afraid to use the light. The best quality in the package are the little perches. You will have to find your own cover to fit whatever shape you built this thing into, as it is low to the ground and chickens will be chickens. I do like that you can build this brooder smaller or larger and in different shapes to suit your needs. It'll do with some modifications.

Lots of good stuff in this chick set. Good things about this set are the adjustable height of the light. The cage around the light to protect the chicks from burns. The plastic edging is useful not only for edging, but also for separation for different groups of chicks. Things that need improvement are: The plastic feeders and waters are very thin plastic and light weight. It is easy for the chicks to knock them over when they are less than half full. Also screwing the bottles on the feeder and water is hard, not smooth like it could be. The toy roosts are interesting. My chicks haven't figured them out yet. A pretty good group of items.

It’s a decent little set up. The heating plate and feeders are the most useful. I didn’t even set up the box cause it just felt like laminated cardboard. All in all it’s a decent setup but recommend you get a separate box for brooding.
