Northern car from 2005 needed the diff oil changed. So instead of spending a hour trying to clean the OEM, just got a new chrome one. Made reassembly easy and clean. Other covers that have a fill and drain plug in them cost 5 times more. so this was a very inexpensive and quality alternative.

Exact fit for my Lincoln Town car 2006. Looks good. Hopefully it won't rust too fast. I used blue permatex as a sealant

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!! I am always apprehensive about buying an item when it says "one left" and this is why, I took the chance and ordered it, my mechanic said it wasn't an 8.8 and appeared to be for an older Jeep. I returned it with an explanation and Amazom put it back in stock anyway. THE BOX IS CORRECT, THE ITEM INSIDE IS WRONG!

My biggest issue was that I wanted to install it on my ranger which has a explorer 8.8 in it, now I have 5:13 gears in this axle. When I went to install it the cover wouldn’t line up cause it came in contact with the ring gear. Meaning this one is slightly smaller than the stock cover, ok mabe not necessary there fault.So I decided to put it on my 93 f150, which has a 8.8 as well, it didn’t hit the ring gear, but now bottom 3 holes didn’t line up quite perfectly, they were very close but not quite enough. So I had to bore the holes out to get it to work, once fully installed it worked and looked awesome.
