I was so happy to finally find a finial shape I liked in black. They are hard plastic (ABS), which is obvious to the touch, but they look close enough to metal. Unfortunately, they're shorter than advertised by 1/2", and they also come with a TINY attached bolt that simply slid right into the standard-size screw hole on both my 3/4" rod and my 5/8" rod. (You should also note that the photoshopped product images showing it on curtain rods are not proportional at all and make the finial look much larger than it is.) I'm very annoyed that I'll need to return these and start hunting again.
