Cats tend to dislike sticky surfaces and therefore may avoid areas where double-sided tape is present. However, not all cat training tape is made equally. Medical grade, Low-tact, No Sticky Residue.

BEWARE! Very hard to remove from fabric and wood trim. Has removed the urethane and stain from my door trim. Has also removed fabric pieces from both of my gooseneck rockers and highback chair. This stuff has done just as much or more damage than the cat scratching. Would have never bought this stuff if I known. Has taken hours to remove. It did stop the cat however.

I put these on the chair legs of our new chairs over a month ago and there isn't a single scratch on any of the chair legs yet. I think they may have tried once or twice, didn't like the sticky feel and haven't tried again. Next, I need to try putting it on the walls or door jambs that they scratch every day!

This does work. I use it on the rims of plant pots so he doesn't piss in them. Also, use it on the arms of the furniture to prevent scratching.

This tape is great for deterring my cats from scratching the couch and the stairs. It stays put and lasts for a quite a while depending on how often it comes in contact with any objects. When removing, it does have a bit of a tendency to remove some the lighter fluff of the couch fabric so taking your time when removing is key.

Very sticky! Hair gets stuck to it! Hard to peel off the roll.

I'm honestly not sure how to rate this product. On the one hand, it did exactly what it said it would - It stopped my cat from scratching up the corners of my couch, was easy to apply/remove, etc. However, shortly after my cat discovered that she could no longer scratch the couch, she decided to put her entire mouth around a corner of it and crunch down, right through the sticker. So if you have a cat that enjoys recreational biting... maybe try a different product!
