The opener is defective – poor design (not big enough) – with the result being it is very difficult to use as a bottle opener. Very disappointing. I gave these as well as the California magnet bear openers to several friends, and then tried opening a bottle with one of them myself. I told my friends later – sorry, what I gave to you does not work as a bottle opener. If a very small bottle like 6-8 ounces, then it works after a few tries. A pathetic bottle opener, but it looks nice as a small souvenir when first giving to someone…
