Will test any larger battery with a load test, the only way to test a battery.

Used the Clore Solar 1000 amp Carbon Pile Battery Load tester for the first time on a customer's battery. It worked perfect. High quality and accurate tester.

I used one of these in the shop I use to work in , 1990’s and it was bad ass , bought one for my self and all I can say is the amp guage worked just fine the voltage side not working at all to use I will have to bring my fluke meter with me to read voltage , try to get help and I’m told out of warranty bought it in June used it last week for first time so don’t waste your time and money buy something better!may cost you a little more but at least it is gonna work

I really like the unit, but I don't recommend it to the average consumer. I have decades of experience in electrical and I think the unit works great. I have tested the batteries in three vehicles so far. One of the vehicles was my neighbor's. His battery failed and I offered to charge his battery before he left my home. He said, "My alternator will do that". His alternator would've charged his battery back up IF he drove the vehicle a long enough distance, but he didn't. The next morning his vehicle would not start. So, if a battery FAILS, charge it up as the test itself puts a strain on the battery. My neighbor knew better than to complain about it because I offered to charge his battery. If you do purchase this tester and you're asked to test somebody else's battery, keep this in mind, especially if the battery FAILS.

I was a bit nervous about ordering this unit because of a few negative reviews. But, I decided to give it a chance as the specs were solid, and the positive responses far outweighed the negative ones. I already have a really nice Sun VAT-40, which is an excellent unit despite being nearly 40 years old. Those thing were built to last a few lifetimes. But, I wanted a smaller, more portable portable unit that could handle more than 500 amps for a load test, just because. I did a load test on a recently charged battery side by side with our Sun VAT-40. I found the amperage and voltage meters were plenty accurate, and the carbon pile was easily able to put a 500 amp load on the test battery. I rarely use the unit, but when I do I find it is a solid performer.

Excellent tool for the money but you must make sure the dial is off before you hook up positive clamp. If the meter is in contact with frame of car because the ground clamp is also grounded to meter housing and will cause arcing between case and frame.

I needed a load tester for 24v system. This unit works great as it should. Built pretty solid with very nice battery clamps.Upon receiving the tester I noticed a rattle when unboxing the unit. Disassembled the case to find a clamp sliding around the inside of the case. Looking at the other installed clamps I figured where it should go and installed it myself. It is made in China.

One problem I found , it would have been nice to have separate Volt lead wires to do some small work .
